but I haven’t really researched it that was a real dude or not.
He was a real person but I don't think much of his story was accurate. Ken Miles didn't listen to the 65 race from an airport hangar, he raced and had a DNF due to a mechanical failure.
He was the guy who made the call for the photo finish but I don't think it had anything to do with a personal hatred of Ken Miles.

This movie is a masterpiece. It’s such a great movie that it managed to make me root for a character played by Matt Damon. It deserved an oscar for best picture on that basis alone. I watched the Martian and rooted for Mars. Ford v. Ferrari made me emotionally invested in the success of a character played by THE premier douche-character actor in Hollywood, and that is masterful cinema.

In a lifetime of bad takes, this is one of the worst.

Really enjoyed it, knew I f'd up not seeing it on the big screen. Wife came down at 2 AM last night and told me to turn the subwoofer off. Inter-play between Damon and Bale, plus Bale's relationship with his family made the movie for me. Josh Lucas' character was so damn irritating.

And you thought that was Bale and Damon “at their best”. Christ.
The acting was corny as frick.
So here’s a person Whose opinion I will never listen to. Ford v Ferrari was great, To each his own bro

I looked it up after I watched the movie but if I remember correctly 4 of the 6 Ford drivers at Le Mans died either on the track or in practice.
Three died within three years of the race.
If you guys liked Ford vs Ferrari, I would recommend Rush as well.

I really enjoyed it but I am wondering how close to factual it is

I'm watching this movie, and I think it is a lot of fun.
Internet discussion boards are some of the worst things to ever happen to movies. I swear, if something isn't "the best ever", then it is labeled "the worst ever". Some of yall need to lighten the hell up. Not directed at OP. Just saying in general.

I really liked the movie. Don’t think it’s best ever but very entertaining and better than average for sure.

I liked the movie but I’m embarrassed to admit I only knew who Henry Ford II was and everybody else I was ignorant of their existence in history. I’m just not into racing at all but I’m glad I watched it just to learn about the history and the people involved.

Probably the same thing Christolph Waltz was thinking we a agreed to be in it.

In case it hasn't been mentioned:
Adam Carolla's great documentary on the Ford/Ferrari races "The 24 Hour War" is on Amazon Prime.
"Shelby American" is on Netflix (another great documentary on the life of Carroll Shelby).

One of the biggest false advertising movies I've seen.
The studio knew the movie sucked so created a false trailer to make the movie look like something it wasn't.
Oh this will be fun and cute and charming and quirky.
No, this will be weird and morose and depressing and boring.

I couldn’t get into it. Maybe it is because I couldn’t care less about cars or the history of them. A lot of the talk and lingo was lost on me. Bale seemed be to acting his arse off, though.

Just finished it. From the previews I had zero interest in watching it. This thread made me give it a shot, glad I did. Very entertaining movie, I don’t think it was either of their best performances, but very fun movie.
