#ANNIHILATION: This is the type of sci-if we always say we want to see. Bold, challenging, singular, visually dazzling. Would not be the least bit surprised to see it completely flop in the box office.

Fixed it for them.

Garland has 0 misses, i have no reason to believe this wont be great

This is only the second movie he's directed. He has some good writing credits but still not much of a sample size to say he's a good director.

scripts are the most important part of a movie, and his have all been good-excellent. it's pretty safe to say he's a strong director, Ex Machina was the best movie of the past few years. some guys just get it

Garland has the Midas touch, I fully expect anything he writes/directs to be among the best of that year

I absolutely loved Ex Machina, but i gotta see more than 1 movie directed to say someone has the Midas touch.

Ex Machina is one of the most over-rated films on this board. I watched it because of this board's enthusiasm and found out how shallow the pervasive opinions on here actually are.

You’re a fool. Even if you dislike the ideas and themes it ponders, it’s an exceptionally well made movie

Has their ever been an "early reaction" article about how bad the people thought a movie was?

Exactly

Just finished the book. It was very different but good.

It looks like they change a lot of things for the movie though.

Anyone feel the same that read it?

This guy made Ex Machina, so I highly doubt he has made something terrible.
