Wait I'm confused are we supposed to worry about how well it does financially or word of mouth from fan? Pretty sure Supes has a strong fan rating on RT as well as an A- on Cinemascore seems pretty solid

If we're banking on just box office then the Transformers movies are masterpieces

If you would’ve followed the conversation prior to the shills attacking you would’ve seen SEK and I discussing the future of DC based on the universes’s health and viability. Gunn’s side of the universe is failing and that fact incited his sycophants.

If the laser eyes are so powerful, why does she even need to throw a punch? Just laser everyone.

We've had one show and one movie in Gunn's universe not really enough to make any kind actual guess. Not to mention super hero movies and movies as a whole have fallen off box office wise since COVID

You seem to want to make conclusions first then backtrack trying to prove it

Blame doesn’t change reality

Superman lost money
Peacemaker was canceled
Supergirl will bomb

He’s 0-3

On the other side you have

The Batman which did well at the box office despite still having Covid restrictions in place
The Penguin was very popular, critically acclaimed and won a bunch of awards

One side is earning the other is losing. You guys can spin that however you like but it’s undeniable.

So you’re looking at $165 to $200 million total box office on a $175-250 million dollar budget. Another A-Bomb for Gunn.

It's way too early for any predictions. We don't know anything about how international is looking, though I don't expect much. I still think 300 is doable

Correct I’m just going on the regular totals based on your $55 mil opening weekend. $165 is usually what that ends up producing but I figure a $40-50 mil boost based on summer and popularity of the title

Superman did pretty bad IIRC internationally, I’d imagine this would be worse

265 mil internationally. Pretty poor number for a character like superman. The international market has definitely gotten tougher for a lot of blockbusters.

you conveniently ignored that every DC thing Gunn has done so far has gotten rave critic and audience review. Just because you are on a solo crusade does not make your opinion valid.

Bait? WTF are you talking about? As the two other posters stated this is happening, I agreed but I’m not sure exactly why it’s happening. You just reveal your projection, it’s you with the agenda which is why you balk and deflect at numbers or data based statements.

Superman was decent but forgettable. My opinion has dipped on it after the fact

Peacemaker 2 jumped the shark and was outright bad

He says this when Superman lost money and sold over 50 million fewer tickets than Man of Steel which was considered a bust. Peacemaker, as you’ve said, was awful and was cancelled and now Supergirl will lose hundreds of millions of dollars. This guy is an idiot and a hypocrite.

This is a pretty important factor movies aren't making as much as they used to especially superheroes movies which is in part due to the loss of the Chinese market as they have pretty much fully rejected all recent superhero movies

His point seems to be they're failing because they suck but Superman, Thunderbolts, and Fantastic Four have all done extremely well in both the critic and fan review parts as evident by their RT and Metacritic scores. Whatever the reason for these movies not doing so hot at the box office seems less to do with how good they are and something else entirely
