No Way Out
A Simple Plan
Two of my very top ones. Watched both recently, introducing them to younger folks, and they loved them.

I would add:

Frailty
The Prestige
The Secret in Their Eyes (original Argentine version)
The Spanish Prisoner

You have good taste. All of those are some of the best.

And yes, ignore the American remake of The Secret In Their Eyes.

If Spanish Prisoner is liked by people, they must check out more Mamet....another favorite.

Mamet is the best. I would add Spartan to this list. Red Belt too.

I saw an old black and white film about some men transporting nitroglycerin through the mountains in…South America, I THINK. Had me climbing the walls! Don’t remember the name.

Rear Window is awesome.

From the Vietnam segment to the end in The Deer Hunter was extremely nerve wracking to me.

Silence of the Lambs is an excellent mystery and suspense movie. Lots of movies being listed here are mystery or suspense, but Silence is a perfect combo of both.

I'll nominate Scream.

The Wages of Fear. They did a shitty American remake recently.

Some really good ones already mentioned. Hitchcock was the king of this genre so i would add Notorious and Strangers on a Train.
Another one of his that's not as suspenseful as North By Northwest, Rear Window, Notorious & Strangers on a Train, but is a very fun mystery is The Trouble with Harry (1955).

What an interesting cast.

John Forsythe

Shirley MacLaine

Edmund Gwenn

Two great character actors named Mildred!
Mildred Dunnock & Mildred Natwick.

and Jerry Mathers before he was The Beaver!

1.The Prestige

Running Scared with Paul Walker is very underrated

Prisoners

No movie has come close to giving me a panic attack at the theater like Uncut Gems did. I was also a bit hungover and went to the movies to sit in a cold, dark room. This movie was a mistake. as soon as the trippy music hit in the opening and I saw it was a24, I muttered shite…

Good movie though!

I'd probably add Angel Heart (1987) to that list. Poor Harry Angel.

DOA (Dennis Quaid and Meg Ryan)
Shattered (Tom Berenger)

Both of those kept me guessing all the way to the end

You and I might be the only 2 people who have ever seen this movie haha.

Other than PW’s accent, fun movie. Vera Farmiga is smokin’ hot in an odd kind of way, and the ice rink scene is quite tense.

Just watched A Simple Plan; I had never seen it before. I enjoyed it but didn't care much for the ending. Personally I would've gone along w/ his wife's idea. At that point after everything that's happened, why not?

I can never remember the name of that Paul Walker movie so I am glad you guys mentioned it.

Running Scared is amazing.

Also, how has The Game not been mentioned yet?
