Krull...James Horner put this together in record time, and it is incredible.

And it has parts that remind me of Wrath of Khan.

I believe it was 2 album set.

I believe multiple hit songs were written for Grease as well.

Unfortunately it led to some really bad
attempts to write other original soundtracks in the 80's. "Scarface" comes to mind.

Yes, that's why I said it had four sides.

Yes, the three hit songs were written for the film. Some of the Broadway songs were hits overseas as well.

Saturday Night Fever and Grease were the number one and two albums for 1978.

Forgot about this one. To me the music is what makes the movie so enjoyable.

score - Pretty much any John Williams movie, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Home Alone, Jurassic Park
outside of John Williams, Gladiator and Sherlock Holmes, both Hans Zimmer.
Also the Avengers movies
and if i had to pick one, it would probably be Phantom Menace or Revenge of the Sith, leaning towards ROTS.

soundtrack - American Pie movies

I love the Mean streets soundtrack.

Also, the departed soundtrack is killer but my stereo has no balls.

Lord of the Rings for me when it comes to score. It’s masterful with its use of leitmotifs. Would make Wagner proud.

First CD I ever bought, which I still have unscratched was the score to Batman by Danny Elfman. Still holds up.

Hard to beat Singles as a movie soundtrack if you enjoyed early 90's grunge music.

Clint Mansell’s score for Requiem for a Dream is incredible.

It made the e emotional punch in the gut from the story hit even harder. Absolutely perfect score.

Virtually anything by John Williams. Too many classic scores to count.

Hans Zimmer’s score for TDK trilogy. I think that Batman or Interstellar was his apex.

Original Batman 1989 by Danny Elfman was also really good. That’s the essential Batman theme and they made Prince work in that movie as well.
