No Retreat, No Surrender was so cheesy but I loved it.

Black Belt Theater was a syndicated television package featuring mostly Hong Kong-produced martial arts films that aired on local stations across the United States, particularly during the 1980s. By 1986, the show had been running for five years and was broadcast in 88 markets nationwide, typically on Saturday afternoons.

The program was a staple of Saturday morning and afternoon TV, often airing alongside wrestling shows and cartoons. While Kung Fu Theater was another name used for similar programming on networks like USA Network, many independent stations used interchangeable titles like Black Belt Theater or Black Belt Feature to promote the same type of low-budget, action-packed films.

As one of the only kids with a game gear (the far superior handheld gaming system) rather than a gameboy this movie did speak to me.

With that said this classic scene puts 3 ninjas over the top.

Timeless.

Bloodsport.

I saw the former site of the Kowloon Walled City (where the Kumite takes place in the film) in Hong Kong a while back.

The Walled City was basically an unregulated enclave of China with an extremely dense population and rampant crime. It was torn down about five years after Bloodsport was filmed.

I also visited Victoria Peak, where Dux trains on the platform overlooking Hong Kong.

The Thomas Ian Griffith movies like Excessive Force and Ulterior Motives were pretty nice since dude could actually act, they included some quality supporting actors, and were a slight cut above story and productive wise--similar to Seagal's Above the Law.

Of course, Seagal also was involved in some nice work besides Above the Law, including Out for Justice and Hard to Kill, which was ridiculous and a lot of fun.

Also check out Night of the Warrior with Lorenzo Llamas. It's an arthouse(!) martial arts movie.
