I have watched this movie a million times and love it.
But trust me if you have a daughter its a seriously hard watch.
It came on this weekend..........which happens to be the same weekend my Daughter moved in the dorms at LSU.
Onions...........dang the onions.

Was her RA reminiscent of Franck Eggelhoffer? If so, you’ve got nothing to worry about.

I'm not sure if they have seen the RA yet. Sad.

there are songs and movies that i have seen / heard a thousand times in my life that i absolutely cannot ever watch or listen to again now that i have daughters who i am watching grow up at the speed of light.

Yep that is exactly where I am.
I have basically raised her by myself since she was a baby. Her mom was sick and since passed 10 years ago.
So she was my right arm for forever. Its tough watching them grow up.
But when the wedding eventually comes.....I will be a disaster.

yup. i remember when my daughters were two and it hurt my heart to think about when they were one. now they're 10 and 7 and it hurts my heart to think about when they were two (and three, and four...)
it's key to always remember that no matter how much you miss them being little, some day you will miss them being the age they are right now so -make the most of RIGHT NOW!!!

My cousin dropped his daughter to start her first year at Alabama. His FB post reminds me of your sentiment.
Be strong my friend… they have to fly on their own someday.

Every time I see a pack of hot dogs with fewer than 8 in the pack I think of him freaking out about it in the grocery store. So warranted
Why can't they all get together and put 8 (or any number) in every thing related to hot dogs?
I buy a lot of hot dogs

My daughter got married just over a month ago. I've literally never cried as hard as when I saw her for the first time in her wedding dress. Full on fountains. Man that was rough and great all at the same time.

hits home for me too. dropped my oldest off at college last week. 18 years goes by so quick. I was not ready for her to no longer live at home.

Wife & I talk about this all the time after we decompress from one of the "witching hour" battles. One day we will look back and laugh/miss some of the shite that would start the arguments/time-outs.
Somehow, I have managed to not have seen the entire movie, my wife has watched it at least a dozen times since we started dating 15 years ago. I did have to stop watching Armageddon after my first was born.

Watched it again about a year ago. I’ve seen it 100 times and never came close to crying. Watched it after having my daughter and when he’s laying in bed having flashbacks to her as a little girl growing up, I got choked up pretty good. Came out of nowhere

I’m not even a dad but the basketball scenes where he sees her as a little girl are always feels

You're so fricking strange. Let's see. Why don't you take another non-reality film meant to be a comedy and place it in the real world and bitch about the real world implications of a made up situation. That could really be fun for you and everyone else to derail a thread where people were talking about something and enjoying it with a fricked up non sequitur.

Right there with ya Dingeaux.
I keep thinking of all the things we wont do anymore and it crushes me.
Its great and terribly sad at the same time.
