Finally caught up and ready for season five. I know die hard sci-fi fans don't like the show due to many inconsistencies but I am a big fan. It's perfect summer popcorn flair, TV-style, that exists to entertain family audiences.

I watch it and like it for what it is. Just sixty minutes of pure and fun escapism.

It's the final season and I'm definitely curious to see where tom ended up after the aliens captured him and if they mind fricked him or not. I think the daughter survives as well even though she went on that suicide run.

How many episodes is this season? This is the final season, but I thought I heard it was going to be shorter than the other seasons. And when does it start?

A popcorn movie is something that doesn't make sense but they throw enough distractions and explosions and eye candy at you that you just don't care. This show moves too slow to distract you from what it does really badly. I remember trudging through the last season, so I'm glad it's almost over.

Same here. I will be watching, but only because I've been on it since episode one.

It's pretty fricking terrible though. And I realize that sounds silly because I still watch it, but it didn't used to be this bad. Also, the acting is up there with some of the worst on TV. Has to be.

The wife and I watch it. We like it, but they are going to have to make some real advancements this season to keep my attention.

And the fact that there isn't much else on during the summer. If it was on during the fall, I wouldn't have made it past season 1. But it isn't, so I watch it. It is at least watchable.

I remember when it came out there were some of us who were hooked just based on the material alone...alien apocalypse, what's not to love?

But then the show was just sort of awkward and the acting was so laughably bad that it was hard to take any of it seriously. So if you watch it as sort of a comedy, then it gets more entertaining.

Yeah, in theory alien apocolypse with multiple warring alien species + hybrid human/aliens with super powers and unknown allegiances is good source material.

Season 1 had terrible acting and stupid writing. Season 2 seemed to improve. Now we've gotten to the point where all the main characters are just annoying and over dramatic.

I'll be there to watch till the end. I had such high hopes for this show. The premise was great. The acting, not so much.

Hopefully ya'll will be in the season thread, because IIRC there weren't many of us last season.

I wonder if they will kill of Ben? It would make the show so much more enjoyable.

The last season was pretty bad. I like the show for what it is, but that last season...woof.

It had such potential, but the writing is about as predictable is I B Freeman showing up in a film tax credit thread on the Poli board. They'll have a couple of surprising moments, but for the most part the plots are about 3 steps above Keeping Up With the Kardashians.
