re: Even for all the finale's faults, Jon's last scenes have stuck

Also...him going North implies he won’t have children. Which means the end of the Targaryen line. Remember what Varys said about Targaryens and the flip of a coin? No more chance at mad Targaryens rising up again.

Further, Greyworm didn't dictate the punishment. It was a compromise. It's why Tyrion talked about the compromise when he delivered Jon his sentence.
Do you even understand how dumb this compromise is? The Wall now lies solely within the North's jurisdiction. Jon's family now rules the North. What exactly is stopping Sansa from pardoning Jon and allowing him to come home, now that the North is its own independent kingdom?

he just wanted his family avenged
I don’t think he even wanted that. He was tasked with be Lord Commander of the Knight’s watch after joins the Black. A position he willing volunteered for initially. He was never going to leave until his saw the Army of the dead. He was killed, brought back and just wanted to defend the realm. When that was complete, he just wanted to go back and chill.
Just bc he found out who his real parents were, didn’t change who he was and what he wanted.
What was his alternatives? Arya headed West, Bran is king, Sansa is queen. Was he just supposed to hang out at Winterfell and kill rabbits? A place he already left when things were all good

I agree with that. I think he wanted to go live north of the wall.

I honestly thought Jon was going to climb on Drogon and torch the unsullied/Dothraki then take control.

Jon should have at least been named king by the other houses so he could turn it down and then give it to bran. I am fine with him going back north but it was letting a dickless man who wasn’t staying in Westeros dictate his fate that was the entire problem. They also didn’t show how they knew Jon killed Dany too which would have been nice to see.

Don’t think Jon got a tragic ending all things considered.
That last scene and music was awesome. Didn’t think the show could make Jon Snow the most interesting storyline of the last episode, but they managed it.

Jon is basically king north of the wall. Can get all the wildling pussy that he wants. He's got it made. That part of the show they got right.

wasn't that just b/c of all the incest going on in the Targ family?
since he's basically a free man able to chill with the Wildlings... he can make as many Targ/Stark/Wildling babies as he wants... and since there's no incest... they should be perfectly normal
that said... I'm still ride or die on that's how the new Night King (Aegon "Jon Snow" Targaryen) & Army of the Dead (the Wildlings) are formed

so... my final question about GoT... does an X-Man really need to control 1 of the 7 Kingdoms of Westeros?

raised as a second class kid by the guy who was supposed to look after him.
Do you know what a second class means? He grew up as a rich kid in a castle with a pretty great life aside from Cat being a bitch to him. The only Stark kid that wasn't great to him Sansa, and Sansa also didn't like Arya who was her actual sister. Ned, Robb, Arya, Bran and Rickon treated him like family.

The unsullied are leaving the country, who gives a shite about their justice. Jon is the rightful king and this wasn’t even brought up at the meeting. This ending and season fails on so many levels it’s unbelievable.

It was a ploy to free Jon and place him where he wants to be and ease the tension of GW. That’s why Jon immediately lives the wall and travels with the wildlings
I thought this was supposed to be really clear to the viewer. He went north with the hardhome folks he saved.

Even worse, grey worm dictates Jon’s punishment, then promptly leaves for another continent. Nobody stops to think, Hey Jon, this dickless count is leaving with his army, never to return......just hang out here and once he’s across the horizon, your good.

Well, he was barred from having children anyways by joining the night's watch. Tyrion said he could not marry or have children as part of his punishment.
I'd say going north of the wall would imply more he may actually have children since he really isn't the night's watch.

Then maybe he could get a proper, noble ending.
I thought where he ended up at the very end was a proper ending for Jon.
