Bran didn't want Jon around to challenge him.

agree. And then he should've rode Drogon.

He can't. Drogon can only be ridden by Dany. He'd need a new dragon.

Dragons only bond with one rider while that rider lives.

The will accept a new rider after their previous rider's death.

My problem with how Jon Snow ended up is that the show removed his agency. I'm fine with how he ended up but I would have much rather have had him take the Iron Throne, make Westeros a democracy, then abdicate and exile himself to live with the Free Folk beyond the Wall for the remainder of his days.

Instead he had others decide his fate for him and I didn't appreciate that too much.

Never heard the last part. I know not every Targ has the gift. And thought once the dragon accepts that person, that's it. Only he/she could ride it.

Doesn't seem like Drogon would allow it either way. He rides off with Danny's body.

He sure looked like he had plenty of AGENCY when HE DECIDED to ride north of the wall.

Balerion the Black Dread was ridden by Aegon I, Maegor I, and Viserys I in that order until he died of old age while Viserys was still his rider.

Yes, but the decision to go north to the Wall was not his own. It was decided for him by others.

Would have made more sense to keep the his brother that had no interest in ruling around and get rid of his sister that's got too much ambition and dick jokes and the lannister with his funny nicknames.

This is truly one of the most tragic character arcs for someone who is basically supposed to be the hero of an entire series.

He is the hero of the series

Then he got to go do what he wanted which was live up North

Yep. And his failure to develop beyond that is ultimately the fault of the writers. I’m sure Martin’s ending to the character will be superior though.

Looking past how poorly written/thought-out your post is, I'll go ahead and assert that the worst part of Jon from this season was the complete removal of his agency. He makes ZERO decisions on his own, and basically has two lines for the entirety of season 7 and 8. It's like D&D realized Arya killing the NK invalidates Jon as TPTWP/a main character and wrote him accordingly, trying to diminish his importance scene by scene until he just leaves for beyond the wall - ANOTHER DECISION THAT WASN'T EVEN HIS BTW, WHICH WOULD HAVE BEEN SO MUCH BETTER.

Do you even understand how dumb this compromise is? The Wall now lies solely within the North's jurisdiction. Jon's family now rules the North. What exactly is stopping Sansa from pardoning Jon and allowing him to come home, now that the North is its own independent kingdom?

Exactly why this "compromise" is a good deal for the Starks. GW does not know what lands are what. Just that the Wall is a form of banishment/punishment. Sansa pulled a fast one right in front of him and he did not even see it coming.
In the end, Jon is right where he wanted to be and everyone close to him knew that. He never wanted to be King or be involved with the crown in any manner.

Yep, but also people are leaving out the Iron Islands and Dorne. They both wouldn't want Jon around either. Both were loyal to Dany. Didn't Yara's Iron Islands make a deal with Dany as well to sail her across.

This is why letting stupid arse Sansa have independence was incredibly moronic. Dorne and Iron Islands will definitely want independence. The others are sure to follow because frick dumbass Bran and him making a guy with no education in money and an addiction to hookers as the guy in charge of the money.

Everyone is going to be back at war immediately and Bran will need to warg into Drogon to suppress all the fighting. Jon is probably better off in the north not having to deal with that shite.

Sansa is going to be dead before long because they aren't all Mormonts and won't respect her. She is basically the same whiney bitch she was at the beginning of the series.

I don’t know why this is downvoted. Jon never got what he wanted the entire series.

Didn’t want to go to NW, didn’t want to be a squire, didn’t want to have to blend in with the Wildlings, didn’t want to be LC, didn’t want to be revived I’m sure, didn’t want to be king of the north, and didn’t want to be King of Westeros.

I hope that dude finds a nice wildling girl and a cave and never comes out.
