you haven't levied this criticism against any of the many other films mentioned in this thread that distort or ignore historical accuracy.

So...all of them?

Because they all do.

Clearly, you're talking about the MAGA base. I'm serious. That's a pretty apt description...

I mean, nail on the head, right, they/them?

Whether or not DTRT belongs wasn’t my point. I believe it does, though not at number one.

The author is knowledgeable and film savvy, but is far too clever for his own good.

He bows to the woke zeitgeist and panders to it by some of his selections.

That none of the films I listed earned his favor hints at film criticism more concerned with prevailing social winds than applying his stated criteria to American cinema.

Do The Right Thing? All The President’s Men? Smoke Signals?

DTRT is a good film but doesn’t deserve to be in the top 25.

All The President’s Men was boring as frick and was inferior to both Rocky and Network from that same Oscar lineup.

Etc.

I’m voting Terminator 2 in the top 10. Captures the rebellious spirit of American teenagers, early ‘90s mall/arcade life, what it means to be a good father. And very relevant today with what it says about technology and AI

Most lists are click bait, and this might be the most of all time

Jesus Christ man, it's a click-bait movie ranking. Dial your MAGA setting back from 11 before you give yourself an aneurism.

Read all the texts before looking at the list and had The Godfather in my head as #1. I mean arguably the greatest movie of all time and the movie starts off with an opening line of "I love America."

Legit LOL'd when I scrolled down and saw Do the Right Thing I guess I had in my head this might actually be a decent list for some reason. People legit can't just make a simple movie list anymore without having to make some stupid statement behind it. My god. Do the Right Thing is a really good movie. It is nowhere close to being the greatest American movie.
