Big Hero 6 was an excellent film, better than WiR IMO. It's issues are the development of the villain and the "group" feeling almost pointless. But the 2 main characters are great and the I really liked the story.

Watched it last night, thought I would enjoy it...ended up really really liking it. I thought it was great and the visuals were incredible. Some of the best CGI to date imo.

Not better than Ralph though, probably equal.

This is why there's so many close matchups in the middle

I'll copy and paste voting replies from the setup thread here as well. I will tally votes Friday at Midnight. Let's begin the debate

Just to clarify, is this after Thursday when it turns to Friday or Friday turning into Saturday ?

t seemed like a bunch of forced moments with no real motivation behind a lot of them.

We're going to completely derail the thread, so I'll stop after this, but I just completely disagree with this, particularly in light of your love of Tangled. Tangled is the movie in which things have to happen just right for everyone to magically decide to help some random girl. And the ending is just completely out of left field, changing the rules on the fly to give us a happy ending.

Frozen at least sets up ALL of its twists. Elsa's ice storm is set up by, well, bad parenting and terrible advice from the trolls (actually, a running theme in the movie is all of the trolls advice is uniformly terrible, yet well-intentioned). The final twist is set up throughout, and you're only run down the wrong path by not only your own expectations, but the characters' as well. They make assumptions based on years of fairy tales, and those assumptions turn out to be wrong. It's one of my favorite things about the film. Everything makes sense, and there's a set up for it earlier in the picture (even something as simple as its use of gloves to show when a character is a liar or not -- gloves mean concealment).

And the help Anna receives isn't just random: it's usually defined by the other character's personal and selfish motivations (Hans and his plot, Christoff and his sled, Olaf and his desire to see summer). They aren't just helping her, they all to some extent, are helping themselves. It's a far more well-structured movie than Tangled (I mean, I love the Snuggly Duckling crowd, but they go above and beyond for a girl they just met, at great personal risk).

Cars
Tangled... tough true 8vs9 matchup
Wall-E.. IMO Brave should have been 16
Up
Toy Story 3
Wreck IT Ralph.. another tough matchup
Frozen... Im a big Ratatouille fan but Frozen just inches it out

Dont envy the job of seeding these movies but Cars and Ratatouille are to low IMO,.. Some potentially extremely tough decisions in the semis of this bracket

Mind boggling. Especially because Cars is a terrile post-apocalyptic, horror film. It's Maximum Overdrive for Kids.

Either that or an alien invasion. Or a world where natural selection, science, and all sorts of things just don't exist. Scary.

Are we going to do 1 bracket at a time or start a new bracket on Friday? I think it will be less confusing to finish out this one before we start another.

You're not the first person to have those four movies as unseen. I'd seriously recommend watching all of them immediately. Like honestly, do it this weekend if you can (BH6 came out yesterday, actually). I'd rank them:

Yeah, I don't know how I never saw Toy Story 3. Toy Story was my childhood and TS3 came out when I was graduating high school I think. Should have seen it then.

I remember the trailers for Wreck-it-Ralph being great. I need to check to see if it is on Netlfix. And Big Hero 6 just came out, but those trailers looked great too.

I had no idea they made a Winnie the Pooh movie.

I'm working on figuring that out. The response to this one has been great. I'm considering closing this voting tonight, actually, depending on if it picks back up to a certain extent.

I am pretty much ready to release the Classics Bracket. I have to start another thread to get input for the set up of the other half of the bracket. SO my biggest thing I'm looking at is not clogging up the board too much.

Yeah, you would be looking at 4 threads and a lot of keeping up on your part. I RAd to sticky this one earlier.
