Sorry 'bout that. I love MI as well, and perhaps the seeding was off
Just giving you a hard time. Thanks for doing this. That was the one that hurt, and it came right after a matchup in which I wouldn't mind either film losing. And the winner gets the Toy Story 3 juggernaut (which should totally be the 1 seed). Monsters, Inc. got a draw so hard, you'd think it was a mid-major. A better draw, and it could've gone far. Now, it'll be lucky to survive one round. It happens.
I get Ratatouille's support. It is the least childish of all of the Disney movies, so it garners a lot of support from adult fans without children. My kid hates it, I love it. But the fact it scores poorly with my child is a serious demerit for a Disney film, IMO. My ballot is partly owned by Mowgli.
Also, Ratatouille is helped by Frozen backlash. People are actually mad at its overwhelming success, which is just weird to me, as many Disney movies are very popular. It's probably the only Disney film in which its success and popularity is held against it, except maybe Cars.

Wow. That's a pretty unique opinion
Sure, and I don't want it to seem like I hate it, because I don't. I think all Pixar movies are great...but the lower tier is clearly weaker (for me that's Ratatouille, Cars 2, Brave).
I won't say Cars 2 is amazing, but it was a fun enough storyline, and it was fricking gorgeous. Ratatouille has just always fallen flat for me (compared to Pixar caliber I mean).
And I guess I could restate my sentiment...perhaps it isn't "easily" the worst, because I forgot about Brave earlier. That could arguably be the worst I guess.

1 Finding Nemo
16 Cars
Poor Cars. Man, that's a bad seed for an otherwise pretty good animated movie.
8 Tangled
9 Princess and the Frog
Have seen neither and therefore abstain
5 WALL-E
12 Brave
Yeesh. Brave is also a fine film that just got crushed by seeding.
4 The Incredibles
13 A Bug's Life
The Incredibles may be one of my favorite movies ever. Not just Disney/Pixar. Movies. Ever.
6 Up
11 Monster's, Inc.
The first 20 minutes of Up alone put it over the top of another classic in Monster's, Inc., but the rest of the movie makes this an arse kicking.
3 Toy Story 3
14 Winnie the Pooh (2011)
Toy Story 3 may be the best movie in this entire tournament, animated or otherwise. It deftly deals with so much more than the usual animated film. There was a reason it was nominated for best picture of the year.
7 Wreck-it-Ralph
10 Big Hero 6
Have seen neither and therefore abstain.
2 Frozen
15 Ratatouille
I refuse to see Frozen simply because of that damn song, so while I understand it is supposedly a great movie, I pick Ratatouille, which does a wonderful job of combining the coming of age, fish out of water, and overcoming all odds tropes that are so often botched when taken alone, let alone together. Does not get anywhere near enough love.

16 Cars
8 Tangled she's hot
9 Princess and the Frog
5 WALL-E greatness
12 Brave
4 The Incredibles hilarious
13 A Bug's Life
6 Up
11 Monster's, Inc. I loved Up, but I find I will watch Mosters, Inc. while flipping, not so much with up
3 Toy Story 3 If WTP gets just 1 vote, this tourney is a sham
14 Winnie the Pooh (2011)
7 Wreck-it-Ralph
10 Big Hero 6 Haven't seen BH6, but I hate WIR
2 Frozen Anna Faith
15 Ratatouille

7 Wreck-it-Ralph

2 Frozen
15 Ratatouille
Mostly good matchups. Tangled vs. Frog is super tough, and the really tough one is Up, Pixar's best film by a long shot, at 6, and the crowd pleaser of Monster's Inc. at 11. No sense making.
I really really liked BH6, but I went with Ralph. Ratatouille is also way more affective than Frozen, just not as catchy.
A Bug's Life vs. Incredibles is a travesty. ABL is criminally underrated, but even I can't vote for it over Incredibles.

Agree with that 100%.
Frozen is great, yet lots of people hate it. Not having kids (especially girls), I haven't had to have it playing at my house 1,000 times since it came out though. I saw it once at theaters, and then bits and pieces here and there. So it doesn't grate on me like it may others who are forced to watch it over and over.

That's blasphemy, man. Up is great, but best film? I'm interested in why you think that..? The first part of Up is amazing, no question. But it falls very flat once Muntz gets reintroduced IMO.

The personification of an auto-mobile gives me legit anxiety. I can't stop imagining what kind of a living hell life must be to have a brain and no hands, feet, etc. At least animals, who are personified, had brains before so it's understandable.
It's honestly the only thing in my mind while that movie is on.

agreed. ratatouille is pretty good, but it's getting way too many votes. frozen is fantastic. the songs are unbelievable. it was/is a cultural phenomenon, which is so hard to do. people just like to hate on things that are popular for whatever reason. weird.

quote:I hate UP. I mean seriously fricking hate it. Not because it's a bad film by any means. But it totally snuck up on me as a depressing movie when the girlfriend (now wife) and I had had a rough day and were trying to watch a fun little Disney movie, then suddenly had our hearts ripped out in the opening montage.
Up, Pixar's best film by a long shot
We were both in shock like did they really just do that to us?? I've never had a movie literally ruin my sex life for like a whole week. shite that movie was depressing.
So in summation--sorry for the TMI about my sex life and frick that movie.

Skipped voting for the ones I haven't seen. I really need to catch up on the new disney movies.
And A Bug's Life got screwed by being matched up with the Incredibles

best film
I think it's the film that represents classic film storytelling the most, probably next to Sleeping Beauty and Beauty and the Beast. It isn't the best Kid's film, it isn't the best animated film. It's the best film, so there's a distinction. If that makes sense.
It's also an old styled adventure film, which is awesome, because we don't get many of those. It's all pulpy, and it does that extremely well. And it's far more nuanced than your average Pixar film. Most of it's meaning is under the surface and it hits you where you least expect it.
It's a film geared more towards adults, like Ratatouille, Wall-E and Disney's Animated like Hunchback. Most of these are often disliked by children.
