Just saw that the movie doesn’t have the song “Someday My Prince Will Come “. Removed an iconic Disney song because it doesn’t fit the narrative.

At least, she said that before there were yet more reshoots, so who knows now.
Just as they cobbled in some goofy looking dwarves, they may have SW get married in the end anyways.

SEK, a guy who certainly isnt going to watch this movie in theaters, asked me why i was posting in the thread if i wasnt going to see it...
judging by the thread, noone is going to see it, so I'm not even sure why we have a thread if going to see it is a requirement for posting about the movie.

You didn't even have to cast midgets. You could have done what they did in Snow White and the Huntsman (an underrated film by the way) and took actors of normal stature and used tricks to make them appear smaller. Ian McShane is 5'7" and they made him look 4'0" using practical camera tricks.

The Dwarf actors came up with a 'dwarf walk' that gave the impression that they were walking around on shorter legs, which helped the illusion. Many actually believed they were 'little people'. Interesting to see the behind the scenes clips of them practicing this walk, around town while doing their off work routines. And what commitment too!
But some refuse to do things the most obvious way, so the Snow White folks first came up with the magical Portland Baristas, then the CGI nonsense tossed in at late notice.

All casting aside I don’t know why this needed to be remade. I don’t know why any animated features need to be remade. Original stories can be really good even with a non-white princess. I love princess and the frog. Also Disney could simply make a basic, albeit original princess story, do it in 2d animation and proceed to print eleventy billion dollars. If I’m a shareholder I’m seriously questioning that the board is acting appropriately in their fiduciary duty with forcing this shite.
