Where the red ferns grow is an incredible book. I always stop reading after they win the hunting tournament. Its a happy ending for me!

I made the mistake of reading where the red fern grows a few weeks after my first dog got run over in front of me.

this thread actually reminded me of the "Where the Red Fern Grows" remake they did back in the early 2000s.


just watched the trailer for the first time since then and realized that the dad was played by none other than "hee-haw-haw" himself, Dave Matthews.
