The ending wasn't the problem. It's that the last season was rushed so the show runners could go do a star wars series(movie?) that they ended up not even doing. It should have taken at least one more season to wrap everything up. I remember going into the last season, seeing there was only 6 episodes, and was like "how are they going to wrap this up in only 6 episodes. There's no way". There was so many story lines going into that last season. I think everyone felt cheated after spending so many years watching the series.

I’m not seeing his point

The best meme of it was when (the actor playing) Varys finished reading the script and tossed it onto the table. It's similar to letting some amateurs rewrite the ending of The Return of the King and being surprised by the audiences' negative reactions.

He can say all the retarded shite he wants. The reality is the king is white, the small council are all white, a white woman rules the north, two white people literally already sail or ride into the sunset in Arya and Jon, and the only diverse people left are the remnants of Danny’s army who are unceremoniously shuffled off to die since they can’t repopulate.

They decided to throw away everything that was built up and turn into a girl power season rushing to the conclusion. And as said more than once in here, everyone was white, so idk wtf Dinklage is talking about. His character was one of the ruined ones.

What's truly bizarre is that of all people, HE doesn't need to gain favor. He's been box-office gold even before GoT, and that show only raised his stock. He can show up in an X-Men movie, an Adam Sandler movie, or anything he wants, an sells the crap out of it. The list of things he CAN'T do is pretty damn short, pardon the pun.

Remember when Daavos says to Grey Worm something about starting his own house in The Reach? That’s how much respect this show has for the diverse cast. They forgot his dick got chopped off.

This seems to be a complete 180 to how he seemed to perceive the entire final season, where it was clear in interviews that any praise for it was given with a ton of eyerolls, sarcasm and just overall disdain.
I don't know if he changed his mind, or if HBO reminded him of a clause in his contract that said he had to shower the show with praise even on torture or pain.

Typical Hollywood point of view. Blame the fans for not understanding the story, rather than examine their disconnect with the fan base and examine what they did wrong.
To be fair I don’t blame some of the actors for being mad at the fans since some of the fans went directly after the cast and crew, when it’s clear they gave it their all. There are only three people who are responsible for that disaster of an ending: the fat man and Dumb and Dumber. HBO gave them a blank check for God’s sake.

Another thing I find hilarious about this is they completely white washed and neutered one of the best parts of the whole books imo, everything involving Dorne. Dorne gave them excellent material to bring to the story and have it be extremely diverse in its casting and they just didn’t care. Maybe Dinklage should shut up and act instead of trying to preach to people who undoubtedly know the story better.

The thing is I think Dorne and Faegon was essential to making Dany burning down King’s Landing actually effective. All that’s affected by it that we know of that are named are Cersei and her merry gang of sociopaths, and thus doesn’t work. Cersei committed a 9/11 with her wildfire plot, so I’m supposed to feel sad this is her fate? It’s be like al-Baghdadi killing Bin Laden and members of Al-Quada by hijacking planes. Sorry, I don’t feel bad for these people and the sequence is just ridiculous because of it.

This is pretty small minded thinking from him. The show reached great heights but came up short in the end. It's no big deal, Peter.

Aerys was obsessed with Tywin’s wife, and it’s rumored he raped her. Tywin’s one major flaw is being blind to his children backs this up as well. It would also be ironic if Jamie actually obeyed Aerys’ final order in killing his own father. This isn’t true on the show obviously, but it may be the case in the books.

For people who don't know about Aerys just think of him as analogous to a Joffrey type who wasn't poisoned in childhood. Given that he lusted after a woman... it becomes extremely likely that he would bed her.

All of this. I honestly don’t hate where some of the characters got to, it just was rushed so didn’t make sense in the story as a result. Mad queen, Clegane bowl, Melisandre’s and Theon’s sacrifices, Sansa ruling the north - I could be down with any of this honestly and some of the cinematography was incredible but the story lacked. Dany’s in particular.
The stuff I really hated was Bran being useless then king for no reason, Jon not being king for being the true hero, and Jamie’s backtracking/Cersei not getting a gruesome enough death.

Critical drinkers review of the final episode is one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen. The shite he says about Bran is hilarious:
