Deadwood is my favorite series. But this movie played like a typical reunion movie. Some really good parts but overall the magic was gone. The ending felt like a Halmark movie with the snow falling as we visit each character one last time.

Why does a Senator from Cali waste so much time in South Dakota?
It's clear who in this thread sucks cock by choice.

Wow. Surprised that it is the best series some of you have watched. I finally go around this year to watching it. I enjoyed it. I did not care for the language dialog but that didnt ruin it for me.
It was somewhat, "uneventful" to me.
Good but not great. The movie was more of a "get together" and it did wrap up a few things but they could have done more with it.
Good series but no where near a top 5 and maybe even not a top 10 for me personally

Anyone notice Garett Dillahunt was in it?
I missed it but that is kind of cool
After Jack McCall and Francis Wolcott that would make three characters for him. Must be nice to keep getting resurrected.

A little late to the party but I finally got around to watching it this weekend. They went way overboard with the dialogue for the movie. I went back and watched a few of the episodes from the series just to compare. The Shakespearean nature of the dialogue in the movie is 10 times what it was in the series.

I watched it yesterday, enjoyed it. A couple of thing that caught my attention.
- Having been to Deadwood, the bar Jane goes into screaming about Wild Bill being killed there, looks a lot like the actually place, he was killed.
- the show ended with the Australian song Waltzing Matilda.
The Irish band, Pouges, song The band played Waltzing Matilda, is one of the darkest songs ever. They lyrics are so sad.

Swearingen basically has no role in the movie except to just die. I think his character should have been a central figure in the end. I am dissapoint.
He pissed on himself for 2 hours and then died.

wasting so much time and effort on the theatre troup in the final season)
No kidding. I almost didn’t make it thru season 3 because of the theater troupe. Finally just fast forwarded thru their parts. The movie was good, though mainly just as a get together to see how the characters ended up. It was worth it for that.

It looked like it.
Although that is not where Wild Bill was actually killed. I believe it's a replica.

He still owned mining operations in SD.

As an aside his son was William Randolph Hearst the famous newspaper man.
George Hearst actually won in a card game the newspaper his son ultimately ran. Now the entire Hearst family are a bunch of whiny liberals, just like the descendants of other great American men.

Honestly, that was it eh?
After watching it again, i figured i had to miss the previews for the next episode. That can't be the end, it didn't fill in any gaps, didn't do much but leave you wondering about a lot of shite, and another movie or 2 could put an end to the series.
Kind of feels like a reunion movie, and they shoved in some plot.

I’ll echo the same ideas already put forth. It was a reunion movie. It drug on for a while. But it came together and I got the feels.
When Bullock splashed in the creek by his house I thought about his boy and some loopy count was chopping fricking onions near me

We’ll see if this bump works
Watched deadwood the past week or so under quarentine and am watching the movie now. Love the show
Why did they age people up by like 30 years if there’s only a 10 year difference?
And why did Bullock gain a southern accent
