Disney bent the knee to Reynolds and now look at how successful it is and how much fans love it. They’ll be begging that mother fricker to come back and give him free reign

no they didn't.

Reynolds and Levy couldn't come up with a story that worked in the multiverse saga. they were 2 hours from meeting with Feige to let him know they needed more time to work on the story and were going to shelve deadpool 2 or 3 years when Hugh called Reynolds and told him he wanted to do the movie.

Reynolds literally pitched Feige the first thing that came to his mind and it was the story they went with.

There was no war and Reynolds confirmed there would not be another Deadpool movies but didn't rule out future appearances as Deadpool.

I saw it today, it was very entertaining. I couldn't believe some of the cracks they made in the movie about Disney and the MCU.

Idk if we’ll get anymore solo movies, I think it would pretty cool to see him in team up movies. Him and Spidey would be a lot of fun on the big screen. It’ll be interesting to see how they handle the character in Secret Wars.

Deadpool and pre-neutered Thor would have been good.

Seems like half the movie is from the fourth dimension perspective. So from that it was a different kind of movie. I actually really enjoyed this movie though. Funny, action, nostalgia. Had a bit of everything. Really worth seeing if you are into the comic book movies.

Saw it last night and enjoyed it. Was a noticeable step down from the first two. Some of the nostalgia fan service was great to see. Jackman IS Wolverine, at this point. Will be tough to recast once he finally ages out of the part.

Just saw it and it’s mediocre to be honest but was a fun movie at times. I know it was meant to satire the Fox to Disney/Marvel transition of some of the properties, but overall it just seemed to be focused solely on the cameos and “you got me moments” like with Cavill as a variant of Wolverine.

It was interesting to see the contrast in acting ability between Jackman and Reynolds. It was pretty significant.

In the end, entertaining but didn’t really offer up what some believed to be an out for Disney. Nothing is resolved at the end except for that Deadpool is alive and his timeline is saved. Still leaves the multiverse nonsense intact and really didn’t clean any of it up.

But fun movie.

That was never the intent nor have I seen anyone claim it was. Many were hoping for it but that’s their fault.

Considering we’re getting Secret Wars and an alternate universe Fantastic Four that was never going to happen

Also, Disney was never going to let a Hard R Deadpool movie advance the plot of this phase of the MCU because a large majority of parents won’t let their kids watch it

Oh yeah except the massive rewrite they did for the movie.

Feel like I saw a Snipes interview where he said the bad blood between him and Reynolds was all made up and played on by then and that they’ve actually been friends for 20 years.

They had a little disagreement about differences in humor back when they worked on Blade back in the day but it wasn’t some huge beef and somehow the gossip rags made that into some massive beef that didn’t exist. Did they continue to talk all the time after the movie wrapped? No. But they also hadn’t worked together since then so there wasn’t really any reason for them to keep in touch on a regular basis.
