I felt like this was just a pat on the back to the viewer for keeping up with the convoluted Fox universe for so many years.

It was a cinematic triple serving of Oops, All (member)Berries

Good! That’s what a DP movie ought to be. Its member berries making fun of what was.

And if you ever read the comics you would realize there were at least twice as many comic member berries than MCU and Fox ones. Go watch something more deep and serious if this isn’t your jam.

I really enjoyed the tribute to Fox and those original movies. For many of us, Blade or X-Men was our first introduction into non-DC or spider related superheroes. I love those first three X-Men movies as flawed as one or two of them are. I even like the rebooted casts. So to see them all in action together, having fun, etc was definitely a touching bow on all of those actors playing those characters (which I assume was another reason to put that in the movie. Stop all fan assumptions about McAvoy or Stewart coming back.)

Did CT lay on the accent a little too thick? I watched some of the cartoon clips on YouTube and Gambit didn't quite sound like this.

He did so intentionally, which was the joke. Tatum for years has campaigned to play the character, and fans concern had always been he’s not a good actor and would never get the accent right.

Everything in this movie is a joke. It’s just many of the jokes require deep knowledge of behind the scenes details to get. While that plays out well with those of us who have followed closely with these things for all these years, it will get missed by the majority of people who have not.

I was not expecting to dislike this movie. Deadpool 1 and 2 were my jams. They remembered they were movies first and fan service second. The formula was reversed for this one and they just went from cameo to cameo.

Maybe I didn't see it right but I thought it looked as if it was a universe with Deadpool in the role of Iron Man and he was being held by Thor like Pepper Potts held Tony in Endgame

I thought it was the scene from Thor 2 where Loki "died"?

I felt it was a bit more serious than the first two Deadpool flicks but I still enjoyed it.

Most people are acknowledging all the shortcomings of the movie. It worked because of the actors but the plot is a mess.

I loved it! It waa simple yes but i had a blast watching it.

It's nice not having to watch every movie and disney+ show to know what's happening. The cameos and music were awesome it just a fun team up.

Marvel should make more obvious winners like this and r rated stuff they make money too.

It basically had very little plot but it didn't matter. Deadpool 2 had a better plot but I'd much rather rewatch the first and D&W than Deadpool 2.

I mean this movie is very integrated into the lore of both the main movies and the Disney + shows like Loki, including the entire plot driving the movie with the time lines and the TVA and all that.

I think if anything this movie has a higher barrier of entry when it comes to pre knowledge of the lore in order for it to work. Drop someone in that movie cold and it’s probably a very confusing movie. There’s chunks that would be confusing for even a pretty consistent marvel fan if they don’t dig into any of the IMDb trivia and news updates (ie the gambit jokes) or weren’t into any of the fox X-men movies

So, you're telling me that the dancer / prostitute who fell madly in love with a former Special Forces turned Merc and soldier of fortune, who went through HELL to have a chance of coming back to her to spend a life together didn't make anything of himself, so she just up and left him???

Did anyone catch the infinity stones in the Doctor Strange ring?

Fantastic movie. To me it was a love letter to everything before this. The only thing odd was Vanessa ditching him which seemed out of character. I think Snipes could do another Blade movie as well

I haven't read through the thread because I don't want the movie spoiled for me.

But, just a quick question: Would you take your 16 year old to see this movie? If its like the first one, with gratuitous sex involved, then I wouldn't. But if its more like the 2nd where there was some inuendo, but nothing in your face, I would. If that makes sense. I'm not too concerned about the violence.
