I didn't think it was hard to watch. It's 5 episodes, a little under 3 and a half hours. It's one of those "meh" shows that is a "decent" flick while watching it, but you won't have any interest in watching it again, nor will it ever cross your mind again. But for a quick watch if you just want to get caught up on what has happened to Kingpin, it's watchable.

This was more the reasoning behind wanting to watch it since it's actually the most recent thing on the storyline (or at least his storyline), not S3 of Daredevil.
I'd assume they kind of do a "Here's how we got here from S3" kinda montage but if it's only 5 episodes, that's not bad

Feige didn't clean house. Charlie said he was out if it kept going on with the script and no other original cast members. That was when they decided to give into his demands. It also took a bunch of Marvel and D+ failures to agree with him. If not for the failings of She Hulk/Echo/ and the rest of the MsheU it would have been nothing like this. They even came out and said that the Netflix shows weren't canon and then now they are. Feige is part of the problem.

He's a known criminal who hired people to murder people, and if i remember correctly he was an informant for the FBI in exchange for not getting prosecuted for his crimes.

Yep. They spent likely hundreds of millions of dollars to re-develop and reshoot everything. And it won't take in anything at the box office.
For some reason our resident Disney accountants have decided to let this one pass.
