I blame the non-book readers. When the show first started there was one thread for them all (and it worked really well at first) until someone found out there were book readers and started RAing people left and right.

it was Glee back in the day. People made this show into some sort of gay event.
The Office parodied it quite nicely in that episode from Season 7 called "Viewing Party." That might have been my favorite Gabe episode.

FWIW Freaks and Geeks is arguably one of the greatest single seasons of any show ever. Every dang episode is gold.
I've never started a canceled too soon thread but I would gladly jump in on one and talk about its greatness
