This sucks HUGE balls. My plan allows 200gb. I used 181 GBs last month and I've used 40 so far of September (9/2 to 10/1 Billing cycle).

I have nothing. I'm on the phone with Cox and the woman I'm talking to thinks it may be because my log in isn't listed as the primary user. So hopefully they can change it so I can see my usage.

nah. i will just have to start logging into my neighbors' routers. They will now have plausible deniability when the MPAA comes beating on their doors.

I can see 5 or 6 other networks on my computer but all of them are secured.

I've been watching two episodes of TNG a day for the past 2 weeks and I have barely scratched 11 GB for the billing cycle ending on the 10th

I could be wrong and armageddon day might not be here yet. I can't find anything about penalty fees or forcing you to the next tier.
I think maybe they are still working it out on how they want to implement the whole thing.
If you go over your limit it the FAQ tells you that you may want to change to the next tier, but it doesn't state the penalty.
I guess we will see within the next month. I am sure someone will go over their allotted amount and scream bloody murder on here if they are charged for it.

So what are the internet provider options in NOLA? Is it pretty much just Cox and ATT?

Unfortunately I think my only options are AT&T dsl or cox. And I am pretty sure that AT&T is doing the same.

Everyone will eventually settle on similar pricing, then someone may eventually try to undercut the other guy.
In reality the plan only messes with people that watch a lot of HD Blue Ray stuff or people like me on the cheap bastard plan.
If I don't get over 50gbs most of the time then very few people out there will be going over 200gb.

So what does everyone pay for their internet? I only have internet with Cox and I pay $34.99 for the preferred package. My co-worker told me he pays the same for the starter tier (50gb).
eta: I just realized my package should be closer to $48.99. I think cox is still giving me the student discount.

Doomsday is not here yet. In reviewing the Faq a little better, they will not be charging at this time if you go over your cap.
I guess they haven't figured out a set price if you go over yet. It is coming, but Ragnarok has not befallen yet.

I'm allowed 250, and I'll never meet that limit after canceling Netflix.
