Conclave was a great movie 90% of the time

The final 10% seemed undeveloped, rushed and sorta lazy. So well acted but the ending just fell flat.

thought it was really good for 95% of the movie
Spoilers below:
i just found it implausible they would just vote for Benitez after barely knowing him and not even knowing he even existed, because of a speech that he gave in rebuttal to Tedesco's rant.

Ehh. It was pretty boring. But the cinematography and the art direction was great.
And then all of it culminate in some tranny bs was really disappointing.

the bombing was kind of far fetched but it is Hollywood

The Art Direction was not good at all IMO -- they shot at many existing locations in Rome, repurposed sets for the Sistina and built a realistic, but boring basement quarters set with printed marble panels that all looked fake.
Great actors, but not a great movie.

Funny that as soon as the Pope kicked the bucket, this movie started trending on Netflix.

Almost like papal vacancies are rare and people want to see how a conclave works.
(The movie is a bad source but people don't know that.)

Bad movie, boring movie, liberals playing religious dressup....anti-Catholic, anti-Christian, anti-religion, anti-patriarch....but openly, progressive and woke.
Never get into the movie because there's nothing redeeming about it. The movie acts like the Vatican is just some very unsociable "social club" where Cardinals meet to discuss getting rid of 2,000 years of rules and theology, and discuss losing faith, etc. Its a garbled mess.

Same here. I was streaming it at home and about 2/3 of the way through I told my wife, who didn't want to watch it, how good it was. '
After it was over I told her that I was embarrassed to tell her how it ended.

Definitely an interesting process. The pope is an elected monarch. This is something you don't see often.

Funny part is those basement quarters look exactly like what I would expect in a governmental / quasi-governmental (the Vatican / Catholic Church) building.
It's like they spend extra for that boring institutional look.

They clearly matched what the real look is, but using printed marble with a repeat pattern is weak. Especially with the best movie painters in the world in your backyard. Maybe it was a budget thing, but the movie did not look good at all to me.

The picture was extremely dark at times

Was disappointed in this plot so I never read/watched it, but love Robert Harris books
