They both get better on rewatches.
It’s basically Season 2 of the Wire syndrome. The changes feel abrupt so you naturally think you dislike it, but once the change is set they both grow into a very good season and the characters find chemistry with each other as it progresses
Everytime I rewatch those seasons I enjoy them even more

i just got full on quarantined so thats probably what ill look forward to when i start this rewatch in a minute. i would also assume the simple fact that sitting and binging it will have a different feel then waiting a full 15ish months like you had to when watching it live

Try to avoid spoilers since im on what is essentially a first watch, but what's the deal with "the Yahoo season"? Also is this the "gas leak season?" I suppose that in itself is a spoiler but oh well. On here and other message boards I've seen lots of hate at both of those, is that when the writing just gets really bad and/or cast starts leaving?

She also made a comment in February about an interesting phone call she just had about the movie...
If they are going to do it, now is the time to strike. A lot of people are talking about it and I think over the next couple of months it will have found an entirely new audience on Netflix.
