Dam Harmon and Chevy Chase got into it while filming the season finale, and at the wrap party.

I don't think Chase leaving the show would make much of a difference.

really only two ways this goes. Pierce is sent off in a good way, because they had the out for the bad way with "a fistfull of paintballs" and they couldn't pull the trigger. also, they could just replace him with Jeffrey Tambor or someone in to replace him and do a comment on the 2 darrens kind of thing. I'll vote for the first one.

I don't think Pierce/Chevy adds much to the show. He could go and I wouldn't care.

This could also be a stunt for ratings, but Chevy is a notorious crank, so I don't doubt its legit.

Chevy's been fighting with the cast since day one. Who cares? If he gets canned, Harmon has already joked he would hire Dan Akroyd to play the same role.

I don't see how this news is "continues to spiral" considering ratings are up, reviews are uniformly positive, and all signs are the show will get Season 4.

ha, I'm pro-this. Chase called Harmon a fat, alcoholic, etc etc and i agree and love Harmon for it, haha. Apparently they're both just cranky bastards, and we all know cranky bastards hate other cranky bastards.

This. Chase never fit in, it's the only clear fault of the show. He has had his moments though.

I won't really miss him if he's gone. He did have a few good moments, but the only things they've done well with his character was make him a villain, and I think that aspect has run it's course.

Chevy is right. I love Community, but I would think writers as creative as them could find a better way to end a show than the cliche' speech.

It gets old having Jeff give the same speech each week. Heck they even joked at this last year in the flashback episode.

Also, Chevy thrives in an impromptu situation but this show does not allow much of that as the script seems pretty tightly written.

Love Community, Love Chase, hope they can work things out.

Much funnier, would be Bill Murray.
Considering that's who came in to replace Chase on SNL.
THAT would be amusing to...probably only me.

Was that real? FWIW, I don't care for Chase's character or performance on Community. He's worse that Britta or Chang, and that's saying something.

I've been disappointed in the show since it came back. Abed and Troy build forts and are weird. We get it. Jeff is a conceited prick, we get it. Britta is a hippie, we get it. More Annie running and dancing with Santa outfits on.

That's what I was saying the other day...they are becoming caricatures of themselves somewhat. They used to be pretty normal people with quirks that were funny. But now Jeff is SO all about himself, Shirley is ONLY about God, Pierce is nothing more than a bumbling idiot racist, etc.

I'm not too "disappointed" in it though...I've enjoyed the new episodes a good bit. I just think the show used to nail the whole "meta" thing, and now they are becoming the same over-the-top things they used to mock so well.

I thought it was really rolling along when they made a lot of references to other movies and played on that. Then they got creative with paintball episodes. I really liked those. Like you said, now it seems they are the things they used to mock.

Victim of their own success.

Or, they lost their creative juice?

That's the writer's fault.

3 years and they've never fleshed her out. She has far more potential growth as a character than Chase or Abed...talk about pigeon-holed into his character...if he breaks out, he's not Abed.

At least Shirley had some other side revealed about her in the very good ping-pong episode.
