Chris Gore - Film Threat - gives out of theater react to The Odyssey. Non spoiler comments

3:47 long vid of Chris and Alan's walk out thoughts on having seen The Odyssey.
The summary - Boring. Drab colors and scenery. And yes, terrible audio. A Nolan trademark, it seems.
Not terrible. There were some really well done scenes, not surprising, here and there in the movie. And the much talked about casting? As many predicted, not that big a part in the movie. Much ado about nothing (So why even have them there in the 1st place?)
Probably the worst thing I get from all of this ? Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, Tom Holland play themselves. Very little 'acting' taking place.

I’ve read the Odyssey and the Iliad. I love Nolan. But this movie just looks blah. Matt Damon seems woefully miscast in this.

Nolan already made Odyssey, it's called Interstellar.

If there was a review to sum up my thoughts from having just seen the trailers of the movie, this is it.
Pretentious with terrible accents and dialogue. Nailed it.
And why haven’t they released this Travis Scott song? I can’t find it anywhere. It’s essentially like turning off the comments to a post/video
Saw someone describe having a Travis Scott song used at the end of The Odyssey is like having an Imagine Dragons song close Schindler’s list.
And the Elliot Page comment Once again Hollywood..

After listening to Nolan, it’s pretty clear. He’s decided to plant his flag with his industry. This movie is in part his thoughts on go woke go broke. Basically he’s here saying I’m Nolan, come at me, bro.
And yes, Pretentious is the best summary of this movie.

I'm seeing plenty of critiques with the latest batch of reactions. It's fine to not like a film, but these guys have to be negative for engagement. They can't spend months hating on the film then give it a good review. Their base wouldn't be happy.

I'll never understand this. The audio in even some of his best movies is so shitty that it is distracting at times. Makes no sense at all. But it's definitely a thing with him/his movies and has been for a long time now.

They’re giving their honest reviews, not shilling for a major studio project. If that doesn’t sit well with you then so be it. If they were just trolling for their hate watch crowd they’d ham it up & say the casting was worse than expected. But they didn’t do that.
