I couldn't tell you. The article says there are seven already finished.

Why does Hollywood think they can just go into the old time machine, pull out something from the past, insert unknowns in place of those that made the roles successful and wa-la... instant hit?

It hasn't yet worked for television for sure that I can recall. See Knight Rider, Wonder Woman, Charlie's Angels, etc.

They just can't come up with any ideas of their own anymore.

i figured it would last a couple of weeks because of the hotness of minka but eventually would fold

Hawaii Five-0. It's a pretty big hit, and I really like it.

Who keeps making these decisions to remake shows that appeal to nobody?

Who couldn't tell that Wonder Woman and Charlie's Angels would be canned quickly?

Where is my MacGuyver remake? That shite would be a ratings monster, guaranteed.

Yeah this would be the outlier example but the remake is very different than the original, except for the name, setting, and theme music. They really didn't go the cookie-cutter route with that one.

Yes I do and I didn't miss a single episode that first season.

And this was on my wall:

Amen. Maybe they should hire us because we sure as hell could tell from the get go. If they were smart they would call AMC and HBO and get some pointers.

Farrah Fawcett was absolutely gorgeous. The other two were beautiful but Farrah put them to shame.

A re-make is not in and of itself a bad idea. They do it because the brand theoretically has a ready audience and you don't need to sell folks on the concept of your show. The problem they often make isn't using the old property but by making something that sucks with it. I suspect that what happens is that they pump money into making the pilot and even if it sucks they figure they can get something back on their investment due to the brand of the show. Thus, a terrible show that is a re-make has a better chance of making it to broadcast than a terrible non-remake show.
