re: Celebrity death that got to you the most

Man, I kind of feel bad because I am a little different. Please don't bully me, because bullying is not accepted anymore socially in the US, or on TD. That being said, I am usually really happy when celebrities die. If I see someone's name trending on Yahoo, I click on it, hoping they have died.
There are exceptions, I did actually feel bad when Lauren Hill died on cancer, because I hoped it was that racist shitbag Lauryn Hill. Robin Williams is another I would prefer to still be alive, same with Phillip Hoffman, but I wouldn't say I felt sad or anything. Honestly, when most musicians die, the only thing I lament is that they didn't die sooner before making whichever shitty music they put out.
I feel bad for normal people, kids that die, parents of young children who die. I just don't feel bad for the celebrities. They went to the top of the mountain and probably had a great time. Go out on top and good riddance.

We didn't shed tears, but my son and I never watched another rerun of The Crocodile Hunter after Irwin died. We watched that show everyday when he got home from school until....

Hard to be specific but deaths that come out of nowhere are usually the toughest to absorb. Plane crashes, murders and untimely natural cause deaths are difficult to understand whether it happens to a celebrity or a non celebrity. Forget accepting mortality its the frailty of life that's alarming. I really don't give a frick about morons who drink or drug themselves to death though.

I didn't realize until you wrote it that I too haven't watched a single minute of repeats.

Irwin was my submittal on the previous page.
And now that ya'll are saying this...I sort of stopped watching after he died as well. I did watch some stuff afterwards because I sort of missed him (as weird as that sounds), but after a while it just didn't feel the same.
Me and my old roommate are the only two people I know of that actually saw his movie in theaters.

f we can include athletes, Walter Payton.
Mine would be Reggie White...loved the guy, and actually saw him preach when I was young.

Dale Earnhardt for me. He was by far my dad's favorite sports figure. I remember watching a random hockey game on ESPN when the news broke and running to tell my dad.

I was pretty upset about the Steve Irwin passing. It was really shocking that he would go out like that.
Robin Williams really got to me though. I still haven't been able to watch one of his movies since it happened. Even worse for me was my father was also a huge fan and passed only a few weeks later.
frick man, my eyes are getting watery just posting about it.

Steve Irwin & TuPac

I don't know why, but I have never bought the cause of death for Irwin. It just seems so unlikely yet perfectly glamorous and tailored for him.

I am older than most of you. I went to LSU but grew up in Maryland and was a big Md. basketball fan. Lennie Bias death shook me up.

Dale Earnhardt. I was about 11 or 12. I used to go to the pits every Talladega race and get lug nuts from his crew and wear them like rings, shaking my fists in the air as he passed each lap. It was traumatizing seeing the crash live on tv and knowing I watched him die. I didn't mourn for days but I cried for a good half hour or more.

Na. It is horrible he died that way and not mauled by a croc or killed by a poisonous spider or snake.

It seemed like they instantly stopped playing his show on TV. I've never seen another episode on cable.
