Bayou Duplantier, Bayou Fountain, and Bayou Manchac are all pretty major bayous in the Baton Rouge area.
By Bayou Duplantier do you mean Dawson Creek or that drainage ditch that runs off of it?

I listened to a podcast about both and it weird that DTL got more attention than Sean Gillis. Gillis engaged in cannibalism and even necrophilia.

It’s not all that weird considering Lee’s choice of victim (generally young and not in high risk lifestyles) and the locations (near LSU). Then, by the time his identity was revealed, you had the presumed rarity of a black serial killer killing mostly white women.

Gillis often killed prostitutes, right?

It’s troubling to think about the population of Baton Rouge, and Louisiana as a whole, and know that there were three overlapping serial killers in the city from the ‘90s into the early ‘00s. On top of those three in BR, you had the guy killing gays in Houma at the same time, and a brief stop over killing by the Baton Rouge born DC Sniper. Wild times!

Truly makes you wonder how many are active across the country at one time.

Baton Rouge is not on a bayou

The nickname for Louisiana is the bayou state. Hence the name in the title of the series.

Sean Gillis lived right down the street from Bayou Duplantier.

Gillis killed the "less dead"

Some of them, sure. But he also killed an elderly woman in an assisted living facility and another woman who was just out on a jog. Neither of those would qualify.

Did they ever catch the third?

Quick summary:

“Let’s see, I’ve put Derrick Todd Lee at a possible 17, Sean Gillis at least eight, Jeffrey Guillory at a possible 12 but it could be more, Ronald Dominique at 21, I believe, and the Jennings killer at nine or so. That’s 67 (victims) between five killers.”

This morning someone on the SEC Network called LSU freshman All-American Angel Reese, "The Bayou Barbie".

I knew DTL’s first victim, Connie Warner and the kids attacked in the graveyard.

I don’t recall if Gillis left the city with his murders.

Wasn’t one of Gillis’s victims found on the bank of Bayou Fountain?
