I didn't realize that DTL's horrendous acts occurred anywhere near Manchac. My bad clown.

Briarwood isn't very far from Bayou Manchac.

A broad question. What makes a serial killer a killer ? DNA ? mental illness? Possession by the Devil ?

Most likely traumatic childhoods/upbringing.

You should watch mindhunters.

The 4 episodes are now available on Hulu. It’s worth watching for those who are interested.

I listened to a podcast about both and it weird that DTL got more attention than Sean Gillis. Gillis engaged in cannibalism and even necrophilia.

one was killing coeds one was killing hookers.

Zachary has Baton Rouge Bayou, White Bayou, Hog Bayou, Copper Mill Bayou, etc.

Can't remember if it was Unsolved Mysteries or America's Most Wanted, but they did a profile on the girls from Zachary. They did it as a Halloween special deal because she was murdered next to the Plains Cemetery, which, of course, has a witch story. That is also where the two teenagers got cut up. (Went to school with them.)

My mom used to see DTL almost daily. She worked at a truck stop on Scenic. He worked in the plants and would stop to pick up food for lunch. Said he was polite, but always seemed "off".
