The film, titled Pressure, is about the 72 hours leading up to the Normandy landings and Ike's decision to go ahead with the invasion despite marginal weather conditions. Andrew Scott of Sherlock fame is going to play Group Captain James Stagg, the Chief Meteorologist of SHAEF, and the man whose weather forecast Eisenhower used to base his decision on.

D-day from the weatherman’s perspective is something I hadn’t really considered before. I like Frazier, but he wouldn’t be my first choice for Ike. Still, anything WW2 usually piques my interest.

now i'm just imagining a comedy where the weatherman's radar is going haywire and he can't understand what is going on while a major bombing/air raid is happening.

Grant us fair weather for Battle. Graciously hearken to us as soldiers who call upon Thee that, armed with Thy power, we may advance from victory to victory, and crush the oppression and wickedness of our enemies and establish Thy justice among men and nations. Amen.

I didn't even think about the weather forecasts for D-Day until Band of Brothers.
