I'm about to finish my re-read of Words of Radience by Brandon Sanderson and am looking for another series to get into to. I've already read the his Mistborn trilogy and the first Wax and Wayne book.

I was thinking the Shannara Chronicles, the Wheel of Time or the First Law series but I'm open for other suggestions

Yea I think the third one has come out as well but I gonna wait until they come out in paperback to get them. I liked the first but wasn't crazy about it and I'm in the mood for a new series since Oathbringer is a ways from being released.

You probably know that Wheel of Time is a very ambitious read, if you have the time and inclination I would definitely start it. The first few books are awesome, then it gets a bit tedious with all of the character arcs...but the way Brandon Sanderson tied everything together in the last few books made it worth it IMO.

Do yourself a treat and read the Inheritance Cycle (the four Eragon books), by Chris Paolini.

I finished both within 3 days. They are fun, and the story is good, but they feel like short stories compared to other Sanderson stuff.

I just started Red Rising after a few posters mentioned it. I'm 20% through, and it's opening act was very compelling.

ETA: Also finished Kings The Talisman at Breesus recommendation. It was really good to.

I think you'll like Anthony Ryan's series if you liked Stormlight.

Blood Song
Tower Lord
Queen of Fire

One of my favorite protagonist, lately.

First Law is

ETA: the audiobooks are amazing. Steven Pacey is an excellent narrator.

Dresden Files or A Song of Ice & Fire (ie: Game of Thrones)

the Wheel of Time

That's a long haul. The first book is slow at first, then takes off like a rocket around mid-point and keeps the pace for the next couple of books as all the major players are introduced. After that it gets slooooooooooow as Jordan seemed to just be making a money grab, then the last 3 (the ones Sandersen wrote) are fan-damn-tastic.

I liked it a lot, but even though I've heard people say the sequel is amazing I've only managed to get through the first few pages.

Read Malazan, it is the best.

It is somewhat challenging at first when you don't know whats going on. But the endings to books 2 and 3 will completely sell you on the rest of the series.

There are three around Winter's Heart where the plot did not seem to move forward a whole lot. I think him getting sick had a lot to do with it. They also weren't as bad on the re-read I didn't think, maybe the waiting between releases made it seem worse than it really w

Thanks everyone for all the input. It is much appreciated

I think I'm gonna go ahead and give Wheel of Time a shot. After that hopefully Stormlight 3 will be out but I'm also very interested in the Raven's Shadow series

On the fifth book of TWoT (reading it in between Red Rising Trilogy, the third one comes out next Tuesday) and yeah, it's a fun read. Only negative criticism I can give it is it has almost every fantasy element you can think of packed into it. As if the world has no boundaries. I have the third box set on the way and plan on finishing the series this year during my reading challenge of a simple 28 books for the year.

Other books I would suggest:
Dune series (read the first four and plan on knocking out that series this year as well).
The complete Sherlock Homles (You can get it in two books from B&N for about $20 if you're not a member).
Anything from GRRM (I've read some of his other works and they're just as entertaining. Fevre Dream is a must read for those in the southeast. It's also a really good take on the Vampire myth).
Tarzan of the Apes (could argue as the first modern superhero).
The Asia Saga by James Clavell (I've only read Shogun, but it was still fantastic; it's not fantasy, but whatever).
The Accursed Kings Series by Maurice Druon (historical fiction that deals with France after the fall of the Templars; inspired GRRM).
Order of the Sanguines Series by James Rollins and Rebecca Cantrell (Adventure that's borderline Indiana Jones; deals with a gospel wrote by Jesus).

I read the first two and I'm debating on whether or not to return. I don't know if I can deal with everyone "grunting" when they speak. It's as if everyone talks like Carl Childers.

Read the zombie apocalypse book Under a Graveyard Sky by John Ringo (Black Tide Rising series).

Awesome book. One of the better zombie survival books out there.

I have about 70 pages left on The Snowman. I highly recommend it if you like suspense/thriller type mysteries.

3/4 of the way through book 5 "The Fires of Heaven" and I just have to say the pronunciations in this series are ridiculous.

I don't know if its the lowcountry drawl of SC that contributes or what but man! I find myself flipping to the back to either learn or relearn how something is pronounced a good bit. And even if its back there I'm not 100% sure I've got it right

I'm enjoying the series but its kind of frustrating not knowing which character POVs are gonna be less focused on in each book. In book 3 I was anticipating Rand POVs and there were only a couple until the end. In book 5 I've been waiting forever for a Perrin POV but there hasn't been one yet.

Perrin POVs are my favorite and I love his character/story line so far.
