--Am I crazy for thinking she's taking that money to go back to New York to be with her family?

--I'm completely lost as to what Chalky is going to do.

--Jimmys mom is batshit crazy. Shits going to unravel on Jimmy and that entire crew. Everyone around him is going to panic and shots going to go down.

-- Everyone is going to turn back to Nucky but debts abroad, I think, is going to cause war between cities.

-- I agree that this federal case is going to backfire. They made it look too easy for him to just drop the charges.

-Could just be a contingency. I think Margaret knows Nucky isn't invincible. She's a smart one and she's milking the golden ticket she has at the moment.

-Chalky is clearly getting fed up with how he's being treated. Nucky's tone seemed particularly demeaning in this ep. When he told him to "be a good boy" Chalky looked like he wanted to beat the shite out of him. He's going to buck Nucky's authority pretty soon. Definitely fed up with having no control over his affairs inside and outside his home.

-Its pretty clear Jimmy's mom's plan all along was to use the Commodore to elevate her son quickly and then get him out of the way. I'm still convinced she played a part in the Commodore's poisoning last season. She definitely is fricked up though, and rightfully so considering what happened to her.

-Sending Lucky and Meyer to be bodyguards is probably in their best interest, but not in AR's. I think that's the move that causes them to break from AR. The scene with the woman asking him about his stomach and talking about how he can't stomach tripe seem to be symbolizing AR's weakening. I wonder what kind of liberties the show-runners take when they (inevitably) get rid of AR.

The show has been pretty historically accurate with the real people they use in the show. If that continues--and I think it will--Lucky and Meyer never turn on AR. Chronologically, AR doesn't die until 1928, which is still a long way away from where they are right now.

Yeah, but if it were a pure history series the lead character would be Enoch Johnson and someone as slight as Steve Buscemi wouldn't be playing him. Correct me if I'm wrong, but by 1921-22 Lucky is already working for/linked with Masseria whereas they aren't too close at the moment. I think getting rid of AR a few years before he is actually gunned down might be one area in which they use a little creative license. Unless there is some big jumps from season to season (which there might be), at some point they will have to progress the Lucky/Meyer rise to power more quickly than in real life.

my thoughts exactly. Nucky should have never called Chailky "boy"...Chalky's in the kind of mood to burn the whole city down. He also seems fed up with his family.

Also, can't really blame jimmy's mom for being so crazy now. She was raped after all.

Right. They changed the name of the lead character for the specific purpose of taking liberty with his actual story. It's my understanding that those characters who kept their real names kinda stick to their real stories. I could be wrong though and the show could always change course as it goes on.

What do y'all think is about to happen to Richard Harrow? He looked like he was in some trouble in the previews of the next episode and with him opening up this episode and showing more depth than we've seen all along so far, I really fear that he might be killed next episode. I sure as hell hope he isn't harmed anywhere in this series because he's one of my favorite characters.

That was my first thought, but then again she obviously is more cautious with the funds than Nucky and she may just be saving his money from him, for him. She's been a down chick from day 1.

I don't think so. Remember last year when she first moved in that neighborhood. One of the other ladies mentioned she needed to save up for when it might end. Now they've showed that, meaning maybe that her end is near? Dunno?

YEP! Didn't see the stroke coming and thought she was gonna kill him at the end. And still might.

Me too. Looks like he's fixing to unload on some poor white boys though.

Decent episode.

Hopefully Chaulky takes that stick he's whittling on back in the house and beats his wife with it for disrespecting him in front of a guest.

this definitely isn't going to happen. But, i do have a feeling that chalky might take things into his own hands...for better or worse.

Yeah I know. I just felt bad for him. His wife clearly runs the household and has no respect for him. His son scoffs when the daughter asks him to check her homework. They clearly don't appreciate the risks he has taken to provide them with an opportunity for a better life than he had.

they are extremely uppity. Which isn't that surprising because light skinned, educated blacks in that day wanted to separate themselves as much as possible from darker, uneducated blacks. Also, the "good boy" remark by Nucky was out of line and pissed me off too.

I cringed when Nucky told him to be a good boy.

Back in Season 1 when Nucky first moved her into the nice house / apartment near the other "girls" of the mayor, etc. One of the other woman told her to always keep money back becasue they never knew how long it would last.

Great episode. I'm continually amazed out how they can keep so many plot lines captivating at one time.

Loved Nelson's response to his wife saying she called his boarding house 5 times. "That seems excessive."

I think that Chalky just has a disconnect from his family. He's country and not from a higher class or educated family, unlike his wife. Because of Chalky's influence and money, his children are now educated and well-to-do, leaving him as the lone "field worker" as he said, while they are "house workers". I think he feels inadequate as the head of the household.

I think it's all been brewing for about three episodes now. The shooting with the klan, the incident that happen in the jail cell, Nucky belittling him & now his family.
