I love Harrow, easily my favorite character on the show . . ., but, . . . shouldn't the missing eye affect his depth perception and thus his marksmanship?
Not if he's left with his "good eye".

Are people disappointed that it wasn't brutal enough? Or that Nucky didn't do it? If that's the former, I assure you getting stabbed in the back and stomach by a long arse blade would be a horribly painful way to die. If it's the latter, it appears this is Nucky's first move to "stay back and out of harm's way". Just fits right in to his new stance on dealing with any and everyone.
Yep. And the final scene of him on the Boardwalk shunning the random guy then removing his boutonniere hammered home that transition from public persona to kingpin.

Historically, Lucky ends up joining with Joe the Boss after AR dies, then turns on Joe... all of this doesn't happen until the late '20s, so I'll be interested to see how this plays out in Season 4.

I just cannot emphasize how much I love them blending historical and fictional characters like this. Such an incredible blend.
They also follow these guys' actual paths pretty closely.
I mean Dean O'banion actually ran a flower shop for God's sake. Love it.

I dont understand who convinced Mellon to cooperate with Nucky and roll Rothstein on Overholt. Mellon seemed to want to stay above the lowlifes. Who was talking into his ear?

Gaston Means. Proving to be an incredibly powerful and influential man.

Wasn't that the guy who watched Gyp beat his nephew's skull in with a shovel? I loved that he got to do the actaul killing. The shovel on the beach scene was the most disturbing kill of the series, IMO.
Loved the ending.. I still think the distillery ends up with Capone as some type of payment for helping get Nuck out of a bind.
Also loved that they took out all of Masseria's men. Needed to send that strong arm message.

I kept waiting for Harrow to sniper his arse from the sand berm while Gyp was pissing.

It was his cousin I believe but yes.

It's up there.

I'm guessing Luciano will have to deal with restoring his reputation in the criminal community in season 4.

Yes, I am disappointed that it wasn't brutal enough.

Yeah and the whole botched drug deal fits in with the timeline.

Here's an interview with Terrence Winter about last night's episode and the season in general. Clears up a few questions including Gillian's fate and such. So I guess some very slight spoilers about next season.

Toss up. I'd still say getting stabbed in the back and stomach would hurt worse. First hit to the head from a heavy blunt object like lug wrench and you won't be feeling anything past that (unless you survive)

Hands down getting stabbed would be worse. First blow from shovel and you would be seeing stars.

Now being set fire is definitely more painful. That would truly be one of the worst ways to go.
I think you're confusing "brutal" with "painful" though. Yes, all those ways to die you mentioned are more brutal and graphic, but not necessarily painful.
Gyp most certainly suffered intense amounts of pain before he died on that beach.

It looks like Rothstein decided to go into the heroin business with Masseria and teach a lesson to Lucky at the same time.
I have an issue with this as it is quite a break from reality. Lucky was busted with heroin and it was very embarrassing and almost ended his career in organized crim but Rothstein stepped in and advised him on how to handle the situation. He folloed Rothstein's advice and eventually ended up as the boss of bosses.
