Exactly, he felt threatened, like Capone was running the show.

As a parallel to American Horror Story, he felt like Capone was the next Supreme.

That's his arse now, though.

All of the retirement talk has Torio on edge. He isn't ready to give up his empire. Too bad Johnny, Al is coming for you.

are we sure that this isnt what was happenin:

quote:

Assassination attempt On Saturday, January 24, 1925, in retaliation for the O'Banion assassination, North Siders Hymie Weiss, Vincent Drucci, and Bugs Moran attacked Torrio as he was returning to his apartment at 7106 South Clyde Avenue from a shopping trip with Anna, his wife. A hail of gunfire from Weiss and Moran greeted Torrio's car, shattering its glass. Torrio was struck in the jaw, lungs, groin, legs, and abdomen. Moran attempted to deliver the coup de grâce into Torrio's skull, but ran out of ammunition. Drucci signaled that it was time to go, and the three North Siders left the scene. The severely wounded Torrio survived.

Yeah walking dead is a joke.

I thought season 4 has been on fire, sans episode 8 I believe ('twas a bit slow) but I will say that overall I think boardwalk empire is the best show on TV, and for me- it is the best TV series of all time.

It is that fricking good.

I finally convinced my 16 year old son to watch BWE, he is a huge fan of Walking Dead. He gave up on it and is all in for BWE.

It is the best produced and directed show I have ever seen. Including The Wire. GoT might have something to say, but BWE is incredible.

I watch and love GoT too, but it doesn't bring the heat like Boardwalk Emprire.

Lansky begging for his life was awesome. That fricker has as many lives as an alley cat.

The Wire, Boardwalk Empire, The Sopranos

Thats how I'd rank them.

GOT is in a different category (not saying its better than The Wire...just tough to compare)

Agree with all of that except that I probably bump Sopranos up above BE, but its really close and it has a lot to do with nostalgia.

I respectfully disagree.

Any Episode 9 of GoT is better than any three episodes of BWE.

Is it OK to enjoy both BWE and walking dead?

I don't think that was Torrio setting Capone up at all. I think that was some of O'Banion's men trying to take Capone out.

I'm more fond of of "old school gangsters" so thats why I gave it the edge. You could be right about Sopranos being better. But intrigue of BE just gets to me more.

The Wire is in the top spot because of how gritty and real it seems. Sopranos I still feel like I'm watching a show (not that there is anything wrong with that)

no shite. Walking Dead is entertaining as shite. It definitely appeals to a wider audience. I like BWE slightly more, but easily watch both every week and dont think twice about it.

He's huge WD fan, but doesn't watch it any more because he had to pick between the 2 shows? WTF?

I totally agree that BE blows away Walking Dead in any tangible and subjective category possible but I do watch both and don't feel the need to turn this thread into a fanboy duel.

As for episode 10, this was one of the series's best IMO. I'm eagerly awaiting Harrow's first real contribution to his new employer. My bet is it's quite a doozy.

And we all know someone big is going to die...who will it be? It sure looked like it was going to be Chalky this week which would fit in well with him being such a main part of the storyline this season...

Of course. People like what they like. I tried to watch WD and it just doesn't do it for me.

He still watches WD. I phrased that incorrectly.

Just likes BWE better.
