I think I watched 3 seasons, then the opener of Season 4 and for whatever reason stopped (not because we didn't like it, but I think we got distracted by something else and just never picked it back up).
By the end of the show, do they fast forward in time to overlap with Treasure Island at all with Billy Bones at the Admireal Benbow Inn?

It only gets better. It took me several attempts to get past the first two episodes. Once you are past that - you are set!

Definitely good all the way through. The later seasons had better writing than even some of Game of Thrones best seasons. It was woefully undervalued when it was on TV.
I also think it’s the perfect example of a show being just the right length to flush out its story and end it the right way.

Top 5 all time show for me. Michael Bay special effects with actual writing. Silver and Flint were such great characters

Unfortunately, I don't have Starz, and refuse to pay for yet another premium or streaming network. So I'll just have to stick to re-watching the South Park pirate episode.

After this thread I think I am gonna give Black Sails a shot. I have asked about it on here before, but would have had to buy the DVDs. But I now have Starz as part of my cable package, so I may check it out next week...wife and girls are gone for a week and I was planning to use that time to watch a series I've been wanting to see. Looks like Black Sails it is.

Totally worth the time investment. I caught on to it halfway through after I bought the first season on a whim. You won’t be disappointed. McGowan’s portrayal of Vane really hooked me in.
