I sat down and watched all four episodes last night. It's a solid miniseries with a handful of wtf moments. Episode three was a bit rough/disturbing to watch. But still very good.

Love this show. Went out and read the book after watching the first episode. For the most part...show stays fairly true to the book.
The tourism board of Monterey must be happy as hell with this show, the entire show is like a commercial for "come to beautiful Monterey".
The storyline is great and the scenery is gorgeous.
The book actually takes place in Australia(as do all the books by that author) but the transition to Monterey works seamlessly imo.

Something about Celeste rubbed me the wrong way and then I realized that she isn't the problem in that household. I'm curious how this battle between Madeline & Renata will end.

I love this show. I wasn't sure during episode 1 but I came around by the end and episodes 2-4 have been stellar. My favorite character is the little girl who is always playing awesome music. I've never met a child her age who knows so much awesome music and/or even cares about real music beyond Kidz Bop. I keep thinking that Skaragaard's character raped Woodley's character but keep feeling like that would be too obvious. Now they have found the supposed rapist but that could all be a ruse. Did anyone notice the look on Kidman's face as they pulled up his picture? She looked horrified for a second but then kept her cool and acted like nothing was wrong. What if that is her husbands brother or something? I don't know, probably looking way too into it. I should know their names but I don't. The cast is amazing, though. It is really only 7 episodes? Well it should begin wrapping up stuff soon with only 3 left. I wonder if they will do another season? Even if they don't, I would love for them to do something like this every year with an amazing cast and good story.

One of the better short series on at this time. The casting has been great and yes Monterrey and Carmel by the Sea is stunning geographically. Those beach house are a lot more than 5 million.

How can I catch up if I don't have an HBO subscription? I thought Xfinity would let me watch On Demand but I have to have an HBO subscription to begin with. Am I out of luck?

Now that we're a few episodes in, is the show still worth watching? I'll probably watch it no matter what because HBO, but my gf has been out of town for work and we haven't been able to start it.
She keeps telling me to wait for her, which would be this weekend. Just wondering if it's worth it or not

My theory is the Celeste's husband is the one who raped Jane. That's one of the reasons why I think Celeste keeps giving her very long looks during the series. Another reason is because we've never seen Jane & Perry in a scene together.
