No one in their right mind would lie about that scenario. It’s really ridiculous.
This 1000000%. It's my only holdup with the show. The acting is absolutely insane, love the music, and it's shot so well, but the throughline for this whole season is this underlying tension regarding the "incident" that simply never ever would have happened.
Still think it's a great show, but I keep struggling with that part. Quick hitters so far:
-Renata is absolutely winning this season so far IMO. She's incredible in everything. The I'm not gonna not rich line or whatever the phrasing was was GOAT. She's so awful but awesome. And I can't even imagine what I would do if my wife lost all of our money in a flash without my knowledge or awareness. I am trembling just thinking about that.
-Merryl is next level psycho. It's about to get real nasty between her and pretty much everyone. The Merryl / Reese scenes are hysterical.
-Also, (and I googled to make sure she's of age), but yup is all I gotta say about Reese's oldest daughter.
-I hadn't thought of the weird awkward dude that the gal is dating being a pedo, but now yal got me worried. I really don't want that to happen. She's the one I root for most.

Never drew this conclusion... and I don't like it one bit. Sure hope this turns out to be wrong .

I got a couple of theories about how this plays out
1) Bonnie drowns herself. Similar to the Jane flashbacks in season 1 every Bonnie scene shows flashes of water.
2) The investigators are not still investigating the murder, but in true detective fashion they’re keeping the investigation open because there was a number of rapes committed in the area by Perry and they could still be tying everything together.

Have been thinking this as well.
And as others have theorized, no way the season ends with Mary Louise alive.

I don't think he's a pedo. I think HBO knows nobody wants to see that. I think his motivation in meeting Ziggy so quickly is to get himself wrapped up in Jane's life quickly which is the MO of predatory people. The healthy thing would be for her to get to know him over a period of time and then introduce him to her kid once trust has been established.

I thought it was Tori's husband, the guy that Madeline slept with.
BTW, too bad they ended up cutting the scene where Madeline throws her ice cream at Mary Louise.
