Recently re-watched Rob Roy (great film). Realized the reason I liked this movie so much was Tim Roth was amazing.

Made me wonder who the MB thought was the better villain/Red Coat? Tim Roth or Jason Isaacs (from The Patriot). Both were great, but I have to go Tim Roth. His fairy demeanor just deserved to be split in half.

both are great...but for me, Isaacs played a better Villain.

It’s based on books and I liked the history of the first few seasons. It’s not my favorite show and I like black sails better, but it’s pretty good.

The books are geared towards women so the first few seasons had a ton of sex.

My wife jokingly refers to it as Time Whore.

It’s basically soft core historical porn designed for women to justify cheating on their husbands.

It’s mildly entertaining and totally absurd at every turn (I mean really how man times can different characters get violated).

It’s a fine brainless watch with tits.

We went to a Comic con a few years ago, and the main guy was there. I have never seen so many 50+ ladies waiting hours for a pic with him.

I have to go with Jason Isaacs, but that Rob Roy rape scene is very disturbing.

Isaacs character is able to defend because of wartime.

Tim Roths character did it because it was pure greed and power and he liked it.

Tavington, no contest.

Arguably the most hated villain in general.

Roths performance is sooo much better. It's a GOAT villain performance that is sadly overlooked. He's also a more vile and despicable human. He won the BAFTA and was nominated across the board.

We all like Isaacs more because it's America focused. It feels more emotional because of the subject matter.

All women probably want to see a man get violated at some point in a relationship.

This.

Roth is clearly #1, that character is fricking horrible.

Tavington is just a war time general trying to win a war.

Roth's character is a fricking piece of shite just to be a piece of shite. That charecter as a nasty piece of shite.
