I may be in the minority but I think Theon and Yara was the best. Yeah, the rescue was rushed but the dialog afterward was good. Alfie Allen is a great actor. From his facial expressions you can tell that he had a rough year or two. But at the same, you can see the sister love from Yara, and she understood that he wanted to be in winterfell by looking at him. That hug was a real hug.

I’ve always like Yara and it’s ashamed she didn’t get more push in the storyline. She may be a minor character but she’s real G in my book.

I was disappointed by Jon and Arya. Maybe too much hype but I didn’t feel anything. And why are they talking about Sansa in their 2nd/3rd line? The smartest person in the world but doesn’t know what dragons eat. It ain’t leaves that’s for sure.

I was going to say Bran/Jon as the worst but Bran established himself as a weirdo last season so I wasn’t bothered by it.

AA has been one of the best actors on the show IMO.

Yeah it did kind of feel weird, but I enjoyed it. Arya and the Hound was freaking awesome though.

Think of the reunion between Viserion and Daenerys

I honestly think they missed the opportunity to make a bigger impact with Jon/Ayra reunion by not having Winterfell/ Stark theme in the background. The music from the series is so good that it triggers a lot of emotion in people. I know it does in my household.

I don't know how much the music would have helped, but something was missing. Jon-Sansa felt bigger. This came off as "oh, hi, there you are".
I guess it's because Jon-Sansa was the first meeting of any of the household after Season 1 (unless you count Sansa-Theon).

Hound-Brienne felt warmer than Hound-Arya. I thought he'd crack a smile, maybe after they were done talking.

Jorah and Lyanna not saying a word to each other because the writers forgot to include it.

There was a sense of tension with Jon and Sansa.

Jon/Arya we sorta felt it was inevitable by the time they actually met.

Jon and Arya definitely fell flat to me. They always seemed to have one of the most genuinely affectionate relationships in the entire saga to me. Obviously they've changed changed a lot but I think a lot of people have been waiting for that for awhile.

I mean Aryas entire arch is about losing her identity to become what she wants to be. Would be weird if she reverted back to this small child that we knew in season 1 after all she’s been through

Jorah and Lyanna

I’m not sure how old Lyanna is supposed to be but it’s possible they’ve never even met before. still, jorah mormont back in the north is a big deal

All the reunions were what kept this episode from being better than what it was. They were so cliche that they brought to corn to it.

I do miss GoT writing from Martin's material. These guys simply do not know how to write well, and they are loading this series with cliche moments and rushed plot points. The production is still outstanding as is the overall story.

Best: Bran and his attempted murderer, the King Slayer

Worst: Easily Theon and Yara. Reek doesn't have the balls to rescue his two front teeth.

Hon Men: Jon and Sam - I've been waiting a long time for that one.

Most looked forward to: Dany, the King's Daughter and Jaime, the King Slayer .

Pretty sure everyone involved in Jorah getting exiled is now dead.

I don’t understand why this was such a big deal. Yes we know they got along best from the stark clan, but they had about 2 minutes of screen time together before season 8

Means more to book readers.

They both didn't belong in the world before. (or "fit" in the previous world) Their connection was strong because of not really belonging.

Really? Because they only shared the screen once prior to this episode and that was 7 years ago.

This is precisely it. Dialogue is meant to move the story from one plot point to the next. There is little to no development of characters anymore, and there is no longer patient story telling. I feel like I am watching bullet points rather than a flushed out tale.

I know people who think it's because the producers are ready to move on to other projects and want to get this over with. I lean more to that they know how to produce excellent programming but do not know how to tell a story. I think they simply are not capable of it, and it concerns me that their Star Wars project will be a beautiful mess.

It’s not really all their fault. They are forced to cram all this material in a shortened season.
