1. Unforgiven

2. Open Range

3. Assassination of Jesse James

That's how I would rank em. Tombstone is great and fun, but it lacks the punch of the better westerns out there.

I'm a big Extended Edition Dances With Wolves fan, but I can see how many people would take a long nap while watching it.

You do need to hop out and get Unforgiven. I was not a huge fan, but it is worth the watch.

It just seemed so fake and over-the-top to me.

Out of your list, Dances with Wolves should be #1.

You need to go watch Unforgiven, and being 22 does not give you a pass by any means.

FWIW, Tombstone is great, it is like the Michael Bay movie of the western genre. It isn't Lonesome Dove, but it does entertain.

Tombstone directed by Bay. Yikes.

Im a big Lonesome Dove fan too. if it was mad one year later it could of been on the list. definitely in my top 3-5 all time.

Another one that doesn't get any publicity that would be in my top 10 is Broken Trail. I caught it on AMC one night and was hooked. Of course, I'm a big Robert Duvall fan so I could be biased.

Anyone else seen it?

Disagree. From Unforgiven:

"Any man don't want to die, better clear on out the back."

and

"Deserve's got nothing to do with it."
