On a trip just now to run errands STP's Big Empty was playing and it led me to pull up Amazon Prime and playing a bunch of the Crow Soundtrack and it got me thinking. There is a meme of "is Die Hard a Christmas movie?" where you put movies that have some tangential relationship to Christmas into the "Christmas movie" pantheon, with movies where Christmas is the primary theme.

So, clearly I'd put the Crow on this list, probably at #1. What other movies have Halloween in the background with any sort of a horror/scary theme or Halloween being the primary theme of the movie (like a Hubie Halloween or Trick r Treat)?

SFP,

I’m so confused. Did you mean “withOUT any sort of horror/scary theme”? Bc Trick R Treat is definitely a horror movie so if it qualifies for whatever criteria you are setting out, does “Halloween” qualify too?

Eh, it's a celebration of Halloween and horror movies than actually being one. That's why I put it with Hubie Halloween, the kid version of TrT

Glad it’s not just me. What are you asking exactly? Non scary Halloween movies or horror movies that take place on Halloween?

Sfp,

People die violent horrible deaths committed by monsters, serial killers, & others in Trick r Treat.

There is a distinct difference btw Trick R Treat & Hubie, at least IMO.

Not really Halloween per se, but Addams Family and Addams Family Values are always good for fun stuff this time 9f year.

And yeah Ernest Scared Stupid would be would be #1 on the list if the damn troll wasn't snatching fricking children during the film like it's Freddie Kruger.

if anybody can convince me that Return of the Night of the Living Dead is a horror movie, I would like to place that one up for nomination.

Movie is hilarious

Well it’s a horror comedy for sure. And it’s just “Return of the Living Dead.”

And was going to be the sequel to Night of the Living Dead (by John Russo) until it underwent a major re-write.

That all said, I watch it once a year. Love it.

I would imagine there's at least one teen comedy/rom-com that's centered around a Halloween party
