Dallas Buyers Club
There were so many shots of Gretna/Westbank/Jefferson Parish. Even the cheap motel they filmed in is actually the (fleabag/hourly) Oasis Motel I unfortunately remember taking hookups to in my early 20s.

21 Jumpstreet (Jeff. Parish) & 22 Jumpstreet (Louisiana/New Orleans)
There's one car chase scene in 21 JS in a Mall parking lot that was filmed in the Kenner Esplanade Mall directly in front of the Kenner movie theater where I was watching this movie! It was actually surreal.

Elvis' best dramatic role in a movie, King Creole had many FQ scenes.

Pelican Brief had so many quarter scenes, too. One hilariously took place in a real bar/laundry on Esplanade Ave, (where you can also read books while doing your laundry). In the movie, when Julia Roberts is in the laundry room, she realizes the bad guys have found her, so she escapes through a door...which (magically) opens up to Bourbon St (where she disappears into a thick Mardi Gras crowd.)

Are we forgetting Skeleton Key or is that just not a well-regarded movie on this board?

Django Unchained or 12 Years A Slave are probably the “best” which is subjective, but they both had a ton of nominations and awards including Oscars. Both great films too, no question.

My favorites offhand are Deja Vu and 21 Jump Street

Interview with a Vampire and half of all Nicholas Cage movies. Also anything that needs an old theme park in their final scene.

The Savage Bees - 1976

My parents showed me this movie when I was a kid but I had forgotten the name.
At the 6:00 minute mark is St Mary’s Church in Union/Convent. The graveyard where the little girl runs toward is where all 4 of my grandparents are buried.

For good cheesy horror, Dracula 2000 isn’t bad.

Set partially in NOLA and appears to have been filmed there.

Ahh, The Savage Bees (1979) has a special place in our family’s hearts. Just when they were herding the bees into the Done, my wife’s water broke. Our first child was born hours later and we never saw the end of the movie.

Not saying it was the best, but I liked Failure To Launch.

I liked picking out locations I recognized, and wondered- was he in Lake Pontchartrain when he was getting attacked by the dolphin?

added- I know wiki says it's set in Baltimore, but there are a ton of easily recognizable La settings. The one guy's house, where he lives in his mother's basement, is on Highland Rd, it's one of the ridgeline houses where the driveway and front door is on the second floor, and the land drops off right off the road. Almost certain one of the houses is on St Charles in Nola. They looked to be playing basketball on one of the Lakeshore little parks. Zooey Deschanel goes into Jim's Firearms to buy a gun to kill the bird that bothers her sleep.

21/22 Jump Street still has me laughing every time I watch them

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes wasn’t as good as the first one but the film set covering 2 1/2 city blocks was pretty cool.
