I would even have him above James Earl Jones - Jones voice a little too deep and specific. Obviously a great narration voice and will be forever Darth Vader, but Marshall had a little more vocal range and his voice was more musical - he could have read the phone book and made it entertaining.

Not the best but one of my favorites and often overlooked out side of the voice of Sam Fisher (Splinter Cell video game) is Michael Ironside.

Personal favorites are:
James Earl Jones
Keith David
Morgan Freeman
Alan Rickman
Christopher Lee
Sam Elliott
Seems like it's all older actors. That being said, aside from James Earl Jones, I don't know if any of those other guys had good voices when they were younger either.

Alec Baldwin. As much as the guy sucks and is a piece of shite in real life, he was blessed with a great Voice.

Haven't seen him mentioned so I'll throw out Jeremy Irons

Clearly I didn't read OP, just saw Keith David and thought his thread got off to a good start

I'll throw out a vote for Mike Rowe who does a lot of narration on nature documentaries. He's the guy behind the show "Dirty Jobs" too and not afraid to get his hands-----and all other body parts dirty for our entertainment with that show.
But the first to come to mind were a tie with James Earl Jones and Morgan Freeman for me.

Charles Laughton and Marlene Dietrich in the same scene. Way cool.
