Not a movie but the SNL scene with Richard Pryor has me constantly in tears.

Zero chance that gets made today. Comedy used to be great.

Foul Play is underrated. While it didn't win much of anything, the film, Chevy, Goldie and Dudley Moore were all nominated for Golden Globes.

I love Foul Play and Seems Like Old Times. He and Goldie could do a great whacky romantic comedy.

I was astonished to find out that Caddyshack had been a critical flop. Not lying when I say that I laughed more at that movie than any previous film in the theater.
Those of us who love Caddyshack can ignore the fact that every scene involving the Irish waitress is death, and the movie was ostensibly centered around the Danny Noonan character who was a dud.

Other than Caddyshack, Fletch is the only other decent movie he was in.

Foul Play is better than Seems Like Old Times, but not by a lot. Both are very good. Always appreciated that Goldie Hawn obviously thought wearing a bra in Foul Play was completely optional.

Absolutely. Noonan was supposed to be the central character and he all but vanishes ( actor had ZERO charisma/presence - no surprise he did nothing later)...but in a way that gave much more room for the others to shine.

Caddyshack…. duh

or is that not a “Chevy Chase Movie” given the cast and arguably multiple leads

I really liked young Chevy but not as much after his peak. Compared to Bill Murray, Martin Short, & Steve Martin that are still funny as old men.

Spies Like Us was one of my favorites as a kid but would need to rewatch. I guess Fletch for now.

Spies like us for me, followed by Caddyshack. Fletch would be next though.

Seems like a Chevy Chase film festival is in order.

So many good ones. It’s either Spies Like Us or The Three Amigos to me. He just wasn’t in Caddy Shack enough for me to consider it his movie. It was the best movie but not his.

Steve Martin has been an old man since he was a young man

yeah too
much of Chevy Chase’s humor was being like charming and sarcastic and now he’s not handsome.

He is hilarious in community being old and racist though
