matt and trey were just actors, though.

I really lol'ed hard at the dirty and sexist stuff Elizabeth Banks and John Michael Higgins said in Pitch Perfect.
But as other have said, Uecker in Major League and Willard w/Jim Piddock in Best in Show are the gold standard.

Why?
If you're looking for reality sure. But the problem with that:
1) Baseball announcers are always the most boring, just so blah.
2) 90% of commentary is terrible in real life, so approximating real life commentary is...almost worse.
Sure he's the most real, but give me entertainers in movies.

Are you saying that Uecker wasn't funny as frick in Major League?
He was real
He was entertaining
It's why he's the best
Willard was hilarious, but you would NEVER hear any of that from a dude calling a dog show. Hell, most of what he said had nothing to do with dogs, or what was going on in the show.
Willard's character was just a funny guy who happened to be announcing shite at a dog show.
Harry Doyle was a baseball announcer that was also funny as shite.

Harry Doyle is really the only answer here.

No. I stand by Fred Willard.

But the character wasn't believable.
Hilarious? Yes
But nothing he said would ever be actually be said by a real announcer at a dog show. He was basically a comedian talking at a dog show.
Uecker/Doyle was a baseball announcer who was also funny as frick.

Who cares if it's realistic? Thats like people who say Dennis quaid is a better Doc Holiday than Val Kilmsr bc he's more historically accurate.
For pure entertainment it's Pepper Brooks and Cotton McKnight hands down

If he asked who said the funniest shite, I'd probably agree with him.
But he asked who the best was, and that would be Bob Uecker as Harry Doyle. He was hilarious, and nailed the role of a baseball announcer.

Are hose the dodgeball guys? You'd have to remind me of some of their jokes. They weren't very memorable.

I'm sure my dislike for baseball is playing some part in my opinion.

I hate baseball and he's still the best. I'm still confused how this is even up for debate. You want to argue #2, fine, but #1 is solidified with Harry Doyle.

Uecker is the winner far and away. But in 2nd I'd put the announcer from Goon.
His line after a horrendous singing of the national anthem, "Well that was borderline treasonous, and a disgrace to our nation and its proud and storied history. My father didn't kick the Nazis'... and the puck drops!" Gets me everytime.
