Henry Cavill as Superman - we all thought he was from the USA until we looked him up when those movies came out, Millie Bobby Brown in Stranger Things as well, and Renee Zellwegger in Bridget Jones’ diary
Brad Pitt in snatch is awesome, too
Worst ones - anything Gerard Butler is in bc you can always hear his Scottish brogue and Emma Watson trying to be American is not too good either

Daniel Craig’s foghorn leghorn accent in Knives Out was comically bad

Agreed. Leo in Blood Diamond. Worked with several South Africans and they agreed it was legit

No one mentioned Tom Hardy's Bane accent?
Well what was it supposed to sound like?

Worst:
Kevin Spacey horrible Southern Accent's from "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil" and "House of Cards"
Best:
Billy Bob Thronton (Born in Arkansas)
The Alamo
BTW: I was going to use Matthew McConaughey in just about everything but I don't consider his Texas Accent "Southern". Texans have their own unique accent.

john malkovich in "deep water horizon". trying to sound like a coonass from eunice was WAY off key.

Alicia Vikander‘s attempt at an American accent in the last Jason Bourne movie was the worst movie accent I’ve heard since Nic Cage sounded like Jimmy Carter in Con Air.

Natalie Portman in V for Vendetta and Keanu Reeves in Dracula were pretty damn bad.

You do realize there's more than one "Southern" accent, don't you? There isn't just a Southern accent and then a "Texas" accent. Someone from north Georgia will sound different than someone from south Georgia. Just like someone from Alabama will speak differently than someone from Virginia.

Best: Nic Cage, Raising Arizona
Worst: Jon Voight, Anaconda

Worst:
De Niro in Cape Fear
Connery in Red October
The entire family in Steel Magnolias (each person had a different Southern dialect)

If we're recognizing that a comical foghorn leghorn was the intent, what's bad about it?

Any movie about people in New Orleans.
People not from here are incapable of sounding like people from here.
People think people from New Orleans have the traditional southern accent. It is far more urbanized. It is not the Charleston old south accent. It has some Boston in it. It’s the Yat accent. It’s not nearly as “pretty” as the traditional southern accent.

Most people I know didn’t have Showtime back then and didn’t know who he was until man of steel came out
Lucky you for having so much time to watch everything that comes out on tv and to have every channel
I had seen him years before in the Count of Monte Cristo but didn’t know who he was

Daniel Craig in knives out...but I like it cause I always got the impression it was supposed to be fake, like his character was using it for "authenticity" but everyone in universe knew it was fake but didnt comment on it.
