Battle of the Bastards is one of the worst executed battle scenes in history

Truly remarkable how bad it was from top to bottom.
And I believe they did it all for the sake of the girl power bullshite the DDs leaned into so heavily.

Nah that shite was excellent

What was so excellent about it?
The bodies piling up perfectly 10+ feet tall to create a wall in a perfect semicircle as if moved there with a bulldozer? The completely useless giant the Stark forces had? The fact that Ramsay was taken completely unaware of the massive fricking army crossing the North and hanging out around Winterfell? Sansa just completely keeping Jon in the dark about said army that she had in her back pocket that could’ve been used to help save northern lives and her brother?
I’m fine with the plot armor that the main characters had, but the execution of the battle was atrocious. Again, all in the name of girl power.

Say what you want but I remember legitimately having my breath taken away when those horses collided during the charge. That episode and the next episode was BY FAR the best 2 episode stretch in the entire series. Absolutely elite television and I was on the edge of my seat for both of them the entire time.

you’re right about the battle itself it was stupid. Not sure what “girl power” BS you are blabbering about though

And then somehow the Battle of Winterfell was much much worse.

The bodies piling up was a bit much, way over the top. I don’t think there were that many men involved to pile up bodies in a 10 foot high heap

There's a shite ton of things to bitch about with GoT. Battle of the Bastards ain't one of them, that was awesome TV.

It was that, gut at the end of the day does it really matter? It looked cool.

I don’t think it was terrible, but I think it’s probably the most overrated part of the show. I remember feeling “meh” after. Wasn’t a fan of the claustrophobic fighting thing.

Yes indeed. The clash of the armies was intense. OP is analyzing the logistics and tactics ten years later but watching it in when it aired, that battle was fricking awesome

Oh bullshite. Absolutely nobody who watched it felt “meh” at the time. It was an incredible battle scene esp for a TV show. Nobody cared if the tactics weren’t realistic.
People are so jaded by the ending of the show that they’re now picking apart even the good things that everyone enjoyed at the time.

I’m just saying how I felt. I know most felt it was incredible, but I personally was a bit disappointed after. To each his own.
On the flip side I thought the battle of winterfell was fricking awesome and at no point did I think it was “to dark”. I know most fans think the opposite.

Season 6 was the last good season and the BoB was a great second to last episode. It's not as good as Blackwater or Watchers on the Wall, but it was quality TV.

This.
OP did you even watch the entire series?

Another D&D scene where fifteen things have to happen in order for the big reveal (Sansa's army) to work..
I tried to rewatch this show but very often it felt like they had an idea for a big moment, and then did a bunch of mental gymnastics to set things up to get there.
Ex.: we need the Night King to have a dragon, but he can't cross the wall, so how does he get one? "Ooh I know!"

Maybe, but this scene was awesome.

So, the “realism” of flying dragons with people riding them is ok, but a circle of dead bodies isn’t?
…… ok
…… ok

He’s upset that a man did something an attractive young woman asked him to do so he could impress her so hopefully she’d bang him afterwards.
Totally unrealistic.
