I think it’s hilarious that after filming this movie, Gosling goes home to his formerly successful wife who quit her job to raise their children

This would be almost like pairing Barbie together with Schindlers list.
Better than making out during Schindler's List and missing the entire movie.

That's fair, not original content. But definitely different than what Hollywood has been putting out. Comic book fatigue is real

Wealthy elite left wing circles simply despise the proliferation of middle class and poor people.
They have no qualms about their own pursuits of adding to the population with children or engaging in traditional roles and marriage, its really you, the plebs, that need to be checked at the door.

Eva Mendes.
She also home schools their children.

This response seems completely irrelevant to what you quoted.
It’s not irrelevant at all. Ken was only created because women were considered failures in the 50s and 60s when they didn’t have a male counterpart.
That’s the whole point of the movie from what I’ve read. Women don’t have to be defined by having a man in their lives.

Resident pels talk soy boy.
You can’t ever call yourself a man if you went watch the movie Barbie. Excluding the men who had to bring their daughters.

Which is such a classic leftist take.
Rancid Atomistic individualism.
A healthy society doesn't desire things like that and that view is at odds with healthy marriages and families.
"You go girl, don't let that man define you. Be true to your truth and find yourself!"
It's nihilism at its finest and a complete denial of how males and females compliment each other.

I feel bad for your daughters if you have any. You're raising them with the belief that their worth in life is only defined by who they choose to settle down with.
I love my wife, and I do agree that we do complement each other. I also know that she was doing just fine on her own before she met me, and she’d be just fine if she left me.

I’m waiting for the suggestion that we don’t make “those kind” of movies for fear of parents who can’t make the reasonable choice of what is and isn’t appropriate for their kid.

Well certainly not. If they want to be miserable and alone their whole lives then they can do that.

Nah I'm taken. Have to find someone who wants to be married to a shrew who acts like she don't need no man. I'm sure there's a self-loathing incel out there somewhere.

My teen daughter came home and said Barbie was awful - “it’s just an anti-men movie and was stupid”

On the upside, no matter how you feel about either movie, people are back in the theater. I’ll be interested in seeing if this spawns a wave of folks getting back in seats.
Barbie is considered a big party event for women. I doubt it spills over to say "Haunted Mansion" next week.
But the real problem for theaters is the very thin slate of movies coming out through the end of the year. And Variety posted rumors that some of the big films may be moved to 2024 due to the strike (Dune, Aquaman, Color purple). Reason is actors arent allowed to promote films during a strike.
If that happens, theater's are absolutely hosed for the rest of the year. An already thin schedule would become a desert.
