See those epic character arcs on Game of Thrones! That was pioneered by Babylon 5! Babylon 5 also has much better writing than Mass Effect!

At least compare it to DS9

At least compare it to DS9
One has a white guy in charge, the other a black guy
Other than that, they are interchangeable

And both get better as each year goes by.

You mean the video game? :confused;

Correct use of "than" where most people here would have used "then". But, you're still off on your premise. DV

I'm not sure what you mean by comparing it to Mass Effect but B5 is my all time favorite TV sci-fi series. It was extremely well written and very obvious that that it was meant to be a 5 season series. It's so cool that something said in passing in season 1 had big implications in season 3 or 4. J Michael Srtaczynski borrowed heavily from Tolkien but made it an epic series.

One thing that I never understood was why did they swap Sinclair for Sheridan as the main focal point character after season 1? I mean, I know the storylines they went with with each character, but why was is necessary from a storytelling standpoint? It seems to me that it would've been a far cleaner to just combine the two characters' storylines into one.

The actor playing Sinclair had serious mental health issues, but he worked through them for that one season. (Read the "Illness and Death" portion of this wiki link)
The ability to write out characters from the series and still turn that into meaningful plot points and development for other characters when an actor or actresses couldn't continue for whatever reason was another impressive thing that this series accomplished (Sinclair, Talia Winters, Ivonava were all handled like this).
It's just too bad that Warner Bros. screwed up with the contracts for the 4th and 5th season and that the ending had to be rushed and pieces cut out or moved around. I would have loved to have seen how the Psi Corps and Earth Alliance war was tied into a longer-term Shadow War... instead we get Byron and his self-immolating telepath cult.

Damn, I didn't know that about O'Hare. That makes sense then as to why they had to switch leads.

B5 got pitched with even the show bible handed over. Declined then DS9 started and ran with a lot of what was in it.
Strazynci even joked about it a few times in a "if they use one more thing, then I'll have a problem with it!"

I downvoted you for excessive use of exclamation points. Calm down.

This is the worst take I've read in months.
Congratulations, you are dumber than Stephen A. Smith.

Damn. I've been a long time Babylon 5 fan and I never new that.
I always thought it odd how Sinclair was written out, but just chocked it up to him moving on to other projects.

I always thought this scene with Delenn was badass. If you value your lives...
